I would still keep the "0" hit = no prof gain to remain with unarmed combat ... below is a copy of what I wrote in the previous topic, also including items like gloves etc:

Some people have mentioned Brassknuckles ... well then you can add in other items like Gauntlets, Gloves, Padded Gloves, Studded Gloves etc. [EDIT: the Gloves or Padded Gloves could be worn by an Alchemist]
Some people mentioned "Uppercut"... so add in Hook, Jab, Feint type abilities, maybe even Dempsey Role (boxing technique that rushes in low and does multiple hits) ... you may have like Tyson KO (you know his Left punch KO) ... maybe a Sugar Ray or even a Benny the Jet Urquidez (speed hits, not so powerful, but effective)

Id like to see us get prof for unarmed combat... fisting prof to be specific. This would allow melee options for alchemist as well as other classes instead of forcing the cast role. Plus who doesnt love a good fisting?
"Unarmed" Skill would be the appropriate name for it, could also call it "Unarmed Martial Arts" so that some abilities could be created for them.
Oh, an addition to my "copied" part ... maybe we can choose a 4 Abilities, instead of 3 when using "Unarmed" combat.
EDIT: worded it wrong (4 abilities) ... I was meaning that an "unarmed" ability would be highlighted blue in color for that character class, thus having 4 abilities to choose from.
