No, if you succesfully pass the master quest you will unlock the next class to play.
You can find a list of the classes here on the link below, goes from top to bottom with Samurai being the first unlockable class :)
https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/index.php?g=2
Succesful master quest on Alchemist (last class) will reset the season for everyone on the same core.

Actually failing the master quest repeatedly on the same class will eventually increase your starting stat points from 10 to 20.

What do you mean "NO" to extra stats?

Have you actually looked at the starting Stats of UNLOCKED characters? They increase by around 5 stat points in total.

Link to classes and their starting stats and equipment etc:

https://ladderslasher.d2jsp.org/index.php?g=2

Here is a Samurai starting stats:

Starting Stats: 45 50 10 50 Guild Points: 5 1

The total stat count is 155, now look at all feeder classes, this is a Fighter (similar to a Samurai)

Starting Stats: 50 40 10 50 Guild Points: 2 1

The total stat count is 150, now look at all feeder classes and compare to an unlocked character, then look at other unlocked character starting stat points in comparison... you may be enlightened.

I am well aware of that, thank you. Thats also why I linked the same page as you did
But you dont gain extra stats for passing the master quest, the samurai just has higher starting stats than the fighter has. These are different things to me, which is why I posted that you gain extra stats for repeatedly failing the mq.

But to be fair, you are not completely wrong either :P Its just a matter of wording

To make this simpler:

When you fail mq your guild gets 1 guild point (which has no value except as bragging rights between guilds to see who has more points), your character gets rolled back to lvl 0, you will need to pick what class you want your character to be (he will still keep his same name, keep all his items, and keep all his proficiencies but his stats will reroll back to lvl 1).

When you pass your guild gets 2 guild points (or more depending on your character), everything I mentioned from above happens, but you unlock a new character that you can try out. Pass again and get another new character until you unlock alchemist. If an alchemist passes the entire ladder gets reset and everybody’s characters go to lvl 0.

True... I read the question "... what's the benefit of passing mq..." and based it on that alone.

@OP ... as stated before by derAmigo, you can "gain" extra stat points, however there is a maximum amount of 10, and for each unlocked character class, there is a certain amount of "Master Quest" attempts (Note, will explain more).

Feeder: +1 Extra stat point per MQ attempt.
Samurai: +1 Extra stat point per two(2) MQ attempts. = +10 extra requires 20 MQ attempts without passing
Paladin: +1 Extra stat point per three(3) MQ attempts. = +10 extra requires 30 MQ attempts without passing
Monk: +1 Extra stat point per four(4) MQ attempts. = +10 extra requires 40 MQ attempts without passing
... etc

Sorry, could not find an easier way to explain it.
