Lots of americans LOVE their steaks well done (i agree with you when i prefer mine medium rare). Also depending on the thickness, and if not frozen but most steaks will need konger than 1 minute per side to cook. Onions you definitely dont want to sautee longer than a minute or they will burn. Eggs under cooked will give you salmonella or stomach poisoning.

All fried:
Steak first, 1 minute on high while pan is heated and buttered (basically seared) the steak has been cross cut on both sides prior, letting in the heat faster, a hot grill plate has been heated up so that the steak is placed on it to carry on heating while continuing on with the onions and fried eggs. (place steak and butter on the hot grill plate).
Add butter to hot pan and diced onions on high, salt (&/or pepper), cook for 1 minute then crack two eggs into the pan without breaking the yolk, cook for 1 minute (no lid), then turn off element and put a glass lid on top for another minute or when you see the white is cooked.
Add this to the Steak in the now warm hot grill plate.
Viola ... 4 minute cooking Steak, eggs and onions. As for the salmonella opinion, tell that to people that drink raw eggs for breakfast for nutrition and body sculpting/building.
