Hi all,
Great stuff Nara. I would like to weigh in on a couple of things...
Firstly I think the biggest issue that needs to be worked out is the economy of the game. I am not sure about some of you other players, but I was drawn to the game years ago when it was still text based. The allure of the game was mainly the chance to find items and cash in on some forum gold. These days that idea is almost beyond imagining... For a new player coming into this game there is a large investment needed and there is really little to no hope of that investment being returned, at least not within a year or 2. It is also increasingly difficult to trade for equipment upgrades. Now as to HOW to fix the economy... I think some of the suggestions here will help for sure. I think a big part of the downfall was the switch to transmuting being a skill. I know that is my least favorite change to date. It was a favorite part of the game for me personally and I know a lot of beginners used the selling of mutables to make fg when starting.
However it is done, I doubt we will see an influx of new players without working out how to make LS profitable again.
I would also like to provide some insight into my personal experiences as they relate to climb times. I'd like to think that my climb setup is decent. Not elite gear by any means but upgrades from my setup now are getting very hard to find.
Currently as a Monk my climbs take around 12 hours of total slashing time. I have done 2 climbs in the last couple of weeks and have only seen 1 group (2 people). This is hard core of course.
