I just came back to this game and I personally really enjoy what Paul has done to the catacombs...
The ability to do Stop the Seven Shamans and a 9 wave Evil Presence spawn in a group with less than average damage dealers was a very fun experience for me.

I think the main issue in the current game, all crying over losing muting, arena, proficiency gaining aside, is the fact that the new players are unable to purchase good enough gear to keep them interested/wanted in catacomb games...
In Diablo II, 100 forum gold gets you a very powerful character.
In Ladder Slasher, 100 forum gold invested will just get you kicked...
Now, I have no idea how to fix this, but I'm sure there will be some updates in the future that will help fix this "problem"

We also need to keep in mind that unlike the majority of video games that we are used to (I assume many of us came from "Diablo II") Paul released this game with the intention of updating it as he went along.
If Diablo II were to have done MAJOR updates like Paul has been doing, I'm sure there would have been a different reaction towards that game. Just be patient and see what Paul has in store in my opinion. If you have a serious suggestion -- by all means post it, but as we all know crying about the updates will get us nowhere.


you sir are another reason why this place has gone to hell.. im sry.. the pass few updates have sucked ass.. all the people who say.. just go with it .. it will get better.. BS! it has only gotten worse.. what will it take for noobs to get the drift?? wait till you have invested alot of time into the game.. then have everything you like about it ripped away.. True.. just quit.. and i have.. but i cant leave it alone because at one time i LOVED this damn game. The community was like a family.. true.. all virtual.. but still a family. now.. just another POS dump like the d2 forums..

Everyone that just blindly supports every single thing just to brown noise and suck up needs to be the ones that quit first. People.. Paul cares about you just as much as the people that are mad at the updates.. he wouldnt listen to your ideas any more than he would mine.. if its broke.. it needs FIXED.. not with a bandaid.

This,

I'd love to have some more competition again, being able to get a high chain on high lvl or get high prof or do lvls really fast was fun. It's all about gp's imo right now, which makes it less fun for me.

I hate when i can only do 5 lvls and have to join a group and then leave after 20ish mins, solo could be an option but the time to do this is more like 3x and the drops and profs aren't really worth it to me.

he better not do this...rank 38 muting atm

i actually like solo cats better than arena, it's slower and drops are less though
i never really cared about how fast i leveled my char. atm its takes me around 10-15 minutes per level on my level 38 barb...i just want more level 30-35 drops so i can get my mute rank up

what's the point of muting if you can't sell what you mute? I understand the prof builders, but if prof was not required to mute lvl 55's, and nobody will buy what you mute, why would you do it?

That is not the answer, there has to be a demand for the items. Right now there are no demand for items. There are many items that would of sold for a lot and very quickly a few months ago that are now just being bumped in trade topics with no offers at all.

I have been the same until this update. its driven me to glyphing... No group --> glyph.

At least glyphing will help me on my climbs. Who doesnt like additional buffs? or an extra 16 slots of shrines?
