OMG.. to all those who said 'No'

Shame on you all.. go buy 100k plus in gear and lend it out and then come back and vote.. you'll have a change of heart.

EDIT: And Paul, I would pay FG for the use of this feature.. I am sure I am not the only one!

Who in their right mind would trust anyone on this site (which is known to harbor scammers/losers/multis/etc) with 100k worth of gear? Given the median age of the user base, that is just... for lack of a better word... retarded. Anyone with a brain can make a new account, join x guild, befriend you for a month or two, then blam. Make off with your gear.

I worked hard for my gear, which might total 10k if I am lucky, and I will be DAMNED if I loan it out to someone I dont fully trust. I have ~5k worth of gear loaned out right now, and I can personally guarantee it all comes back to me. Sure, my 5k might be pennies to some of you, but it is a LOT to me. I have never questioned it getting returned, because the people that have it are not 14 year old spammer multis. (sorry, but you guys get a bad rep)

If you are getting "fooled" by people on the internet, you really need to adjust how you view people online. Would you trust the same people with your bank account? With watching your children? I think not.

This will never happen, even if you offer to pay for it, I can see it backfiring already.

No

Reason: no ones needs a perfect world. what is with hardcore? if the person dies with the item-> can be abused to safe stuff -> hardcore gets useless

not needed imo

I've invested well over 100K into my gear. I still say no. I've even loaned out a few pieces. I know a few people I'd loan to again, I know a few people I'd tell to piss off.

That worked well, because it shows quite well how much I am worth to them, which gives me a good ground on which to stand on when I re-evaluate what they're worth to me.

Wonderous, social interaction on the interwebs. <3

BIG NO!

This would create loan sharking and reverse "scams"
Really rich people would loan out their gear, make the recipient pay the loan fee (the return to sender after x time fee)
And nobody would buy new gear, they would just rent. And the poor would stay poor and the rich would get richer

Which part doesn't make sense? This is encouraging all but the strongest (richest?) of the players simply to leech off their guild, and never build themselves up to anything. It weakens the game, weakens teams, and weakens the market. Why would this be a good thing?

This sounds to good to be true to implement.

To much work and this would be overpowering the rich guilds imo :S

kinda the idea here, who loans out there gear to more than one person? not the best idea, but a timer on the items i loan out, wow that could get confusing, imo.

then what if the vault fills up and the item cant return?? does it just overfill it ofc?

kinda like a reroll on a mule?

Maybe a 24hr timer? then the program paul uses has to take the item from the character its on, im sure he could do all this, but what about the cost to server capacity or some server memory?

Then Hardcore will turn to a dust storm? see i say this stuff with a, ?. because they are just ideas that i dont know the answers to! ofc.

:)

But its a heck of an idea

I might vote later after reading all the posts.

What about the economical factors at this, idk.

gg topic :hello:

No.

I guess I could expand on this a little. :/

1. It would hurt the game economics if it were free or cheap to use. This isn't even debatable.
If it were pricey to use it'd eventually die out since the cost would become too much for the GP gain from risk-free item lending. (Basically like buying GPs, except it'd hurt the market too)

2. There are virtually limitless issues with things like shrining, dying (on hc), deleting characters, getting locked, etc, etc that'd cause items to still be lost out of the owners control.
I think I saw somewhere in there, that these items would be made indestructable to prevent such things? Seriously? ... I don't know what you people are smoking, and I don't want any.

3. This is ridiculously overpowered for the bigger/richer LS players and guilds who could provide gear for many slashers with no risk. It's basically incentive to invest in a few extra gear sets to get their guild easy and risk free guild points leading to a monopoly-like situation where there isn't fair competition among guilds.

4. I don't see anything that could ever make this idea work.

I'm sure there are plenty more reasons as well, but I don't want to waste any more time thinking about this. :P
