Well, as far as I know everyone that has ripped so far has reused the gear they found on their bufcore char. In my opinion, that's fine since they already slogged through once and made some progress. Ripping their best/highest tier gear is punishment enough. As far as SELF found goes it can also be interpreted as found by you (self) on your account, not necessarily the character. I know the original was different and I'm pretty sure in the original people were also limited to not vaulting or even xfering items, so it has evolved. I haven't died yet, but if I do then I'd likely reuse the items I already found on my new bufcore char.

In my opinion, as long as people do the following it should still fit in the current state of bufcore:
- Use a fresh HC char to start to climb with
- Don't use any item bought or traded for in any way. Basically, only use items picked up by one of their own bufcore chars.
- Group only with other bufcore chars

Idk what everyone else thinks.. Either way, people are free to play however they want.

You've definitely made some quick progress. Be sure to also save some daggers/swords for when you pass to samurai.

That means I can use a lot of my previous gear since they are self found (with no record of sale/bought) but used different characters. It also means items transferred from Guild members using Vault for Skilling purpose might think that one of those items were self found because there would be no record of sale.... and no, I don't use a vault and haven't for many years.

The last bufcore character I had that did NOT die, I deleted along with every item that character found and started fresh... guess I have a different way of thinking about a bufcore character, and if I find something that is useful, I would sell it or use it on my other characters if my bufcore character dies.

Grats on nice item.

Sure, there can be cheating... But, I doubt any buddy would want to... Defeats the purpose of the grind.

It's really impossible to prevent cheating. The only thing one could do is check every item ID to see if it actually dropped recently, but other than that there's no way to see if it actually dropped on that character, if it was transferred from a non bufcore char, or if a guild mate found an item and transferred it over. If someone is caught cheating then it'd be fine to call them out on it, but, as Kevin mentioned, there's no major incentive to cheat. If it were a full fledged competition with a prize pool or something then, yeah, there'd need to be a bit more control over everything and some more rules, but even then it's really impossible to prevent cheating. Anyways, that's just my take on it and people are able to impose even further restrictions to make it even more challenging if they want, such as, not allowing rerolling, not being allowed to mule, not using any item found in previous climbs, not putting in stat points, only using heavy weapons, not allowing /easy 1, etc..

and have been added. Did I miss anyone else?

I also fixed a bug that caused it to incorrectly calculate the levels/day if there were changes in the ranking order and I changed it to reset the day at midnight EDT before it was resetting at like 5 am.

Agree with you, I wasn't referring to intentional cheating, I was referring to the interpretation that was posted to my interpretation to Bufcore.

My interpretation is:

"You can ONLY use self found gear on and from THE bufcore character created, any previously self found gear from another Bufcore character run is either sold / deleted / shrine food or used by another character outside of another Bufcore character/run."

Fully agree, as above, just interpretation to a bufcore run ... as for vault / mules / re-roll / stats etc, those are part of the game mechanics, so restricting those are funny.

Didn't see the bug in your link beforehand, nice to see you are on the ball and it looks great.

Found this absolute beauty from an EP that was healing for more than I'd hit, had to charge powerstrike to 200 like 7 times to make up for it's heals.

Magical sapphire axe
Level Req: 30
Damage: 74 to 89
+4% Experience Gained

Feeling stronk now. :D
