That's exactly how I treat LS. It brings me fun, so I don't care about that whole economy thing that much. If it bothered me that much I just wouldn't play this game.

In all honesty, I would say the best way to get people playing ladder slasher (whether its new people or old school slasher's) is to let Paul release another mind blowing update.

If there is one thing that has been consistent in Ladder Slasher since its release, it is change.

The LS community has ALWAYS shrank and grown. It will continue to happen because not everyone is the same and you can only appeal to the masses so much before it pisses another group of people off.

I think once Paul get's closer to where he is going with the game (which I am sure is beyond our grasp as he always introduce's something that was never suggested, even if its a small something) that more people will come back to/start playing the game.

Just a opinion though. I am one voice amongst thousands.

i dont know if i am repeating myself or someone else

1 - new players cannot participate in the 2 hour climbs due to lack of gear and there for get kicked
2 - this game now costs more to play than u can feasibly make
3 - anyone who's group doesn't make it to mq, may as well reroll
4 - i don't want to play d2/poker/whatever , i want to slash more
5 - after tons of slashing for what seems forever, i still haven't gotten a 100+ ee item
6 - even if i was to continue spending $ for FGz, the updates have cost me more than a hobby has the right too
7 - do we really want to influx this game with 100s and 100s of new , poor, players?

There is so many people with bad attitudes and behavior problems, even if this game was advertised on other websites, people would not be attracted to the game enough to stay here.
Yes we all think the forums are fun the way they are... But Honestly if I was a father I wouldn't want my children to read or see the things posted on these forums, allot of things need to be cleaned up!
I know that I cant shelter my children forever but even with children aside, personally I have grown very sick of the stuff that has been swimming around in these forums and ls community. The game itself is very fun but when party playing in open games whether you are a new player or old player you will run into so many people with less than tolerable behavior and yes the answer is to just not play with them but one has to wonder why are they able to flame and act nasty in game without getting warns or anything. I just think that if the environment on ls and ls forums was more welcoming as a whole then things would get allot better around here.
