Well said Rew.  Agree completely 100%

Unfortunately some when protected by the shroud of the Internet feel the need to behave poorly because the consequences are not the same as if they acted the same in a real life setting.

This is true in some cases but consequences aren't always the way to solve a problem. If a person has a change in perspective, a whole set of problems can cease to exist (at least with practice). So I point to practices (behaviours). We can choose how we feel about something and we can change how we act. My experience is that people who complain are not genuinely interested in solving problems, or if they are, they're doing it wrong. Change the emotion -> change the perspective -> change the action -> solve the problem :)

My suggestion for probably the majority of LS players is to actively develop a new attitude toward the game. Not just as a directive from Kevin to encourage possible progress, but to:

- facilitate communication
- make (new/more) friends and find people to play with
- generate new ideas and explore new ways to play the game as it is (contests/events, etc)
- show that you care and show pro-activity in terms of moving the game forward

Don't just talk about change or complain about Paul or the game etc.: you can already make it better for yourself and others. You won't need solutions because the problems will dissolve. Not only that but the right environment would arise where really great ideas can emerge.

The game is not a kill that gets divided up between the lions. Instead of asking Paul to communicate with you, why not communicate to him by diversifying how you play and becoming a more inclusive, positive interlocutor? ;)

Nice points... and as you say... "majority of LS ... "

- I will skip communication, that is more of a two way street and at times misunderstandings can cause irritation.
- Make (new/more) friends and find people to play with.
.. on SC... that could be an issue, on HC... it is not really an issue. [even with my setup, I get the call to jump in at times]
- new ideas and new ways to play the game as it si (contests/events etc)
.. The only contest that has produced a great response was the MQ contest, where the first person to complete X amount of MQs
.. won X item + X portion of fg... and other than my best item(s) and donations, THE community banded together and donated there
.. spare items and even fg... only thing is this... we can not always give up our best items and fg to a failing economy and censored drop system.
.. There could be communication from Paul to see how he can AID the community in continue'ing these types of contests.
- Show that you care etc.
.. as answered in the new ideas section... we have done this, and repeated it... but then it can only go so far without some compromise
.. a compromise could be a donation of FG [i know, ridiculous example] to go into the Pool... or maybe a Specific LS ONLY star... who knows, maybe invite to Donation section.

I am not complaining or argue'ing with you... just pointing out... we have tried this, and even though the competition was a great success and all that, it could not become a regular event.
It was awesome... heaps of people from the community pitched in with items and donations etc, we even got to help new people that started playing because we gave away partial startup sets based on their achievements... yup... was great... but the little community left can not hold down the fort without some assistance. [And no... it was not Andys [Kalm] idea for that last contest... :D sorry there Andy.]

Anyway... you have great points... thank you for the discussion.

The last few updates were great. Overall people supported them if you look back.
Arena removal is still hard to swallow.
Vault fees are crushing and as a result people's pockets empty and can no longer play.
Communication with Paul would be nice.
I'm going to make the fattest paladin caster this world has ever seen, bitches.

100% disagree with this.

You want me to invite friend to this game?

What will I tell them when they will get kicked out of group because they have no gear?

What will I tell them when they will ask: why people kick them from games?

Why people call me multi?

Why I always die at level 1

Why I cant play solo?

Why can't I play in group?

How do I make forum gold to buy stuff?

Then I will answer:

People dont paly you cause you are noob, you have to invest 20k fgs and you MIGHT find group or be able to solo when shrining alot.

he will say:

Ok how i find 20k fgs?

Easy, since you are new and dont play any other games, you have to buy them on the website!

...
...
...
......
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
......

Np, it cost only ~600$ to paly this game!

Wonder why people doesnt invite people to play this game?

1. It is not attractive.
2. It is too complex for a simple flash game.
3. It cost too much
4. It's too much team dependant, and you have no team huh
5. The only way to solo is too hard for a newcommer
6. There is no way to have a good amount of fgs from this game.

Will I tell a new commer this game is funny? Or worth playing? No. I'm not a liar. Will I tell anybody irl that I play this game? No. It's like saying I paly bubble trouble, this is a shame.

I have been respectful throught my post, but said what need to be said. If someone feel disapointed toward this or disagree, discuss in pm. TY

100% disagree with this.

That is only one side of the coin, even though it is basically 99% correct... but you are missing key things.
If you really want to help your friend play this game... then you would actually be playing it with them.
Another thing... this for starter player: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=71087688&f=272

Hardcore is a different niche of LS players, even though some come from both sides of the coin, when people
are beginning, they get help... even items at 1fg... or donation of like 15fg to buy said 1fg items that can help new
people.

There is a difference between SC and HC... and I agree with you on some points.

But... I would help my friend and play the game with them... even if only a 2 man group

EDIT: oh... actually I have invited a friend from my D2 days to play this game in 1.15... gave him gear + fg for him to try it out... gave him the full over... and gamed with him a few days... well... he hated the game... not the people... but the game... that was okay with me... I think I invited him into our guild also... :D

Rex I appreciate the thought but you have no idea what goes on in the sc side of the game or how many items or fg is donated on the sc side.  It's best to not try to say hc is "different, nicer, more helpful to new players" etc.  That only creates division and it's very far from the truth.

I use to play SC... and the first ever person that got me to my first ever Master Quest was Todd [Moojilush]... if it was not for him, and his amazement that I had Rank 10 sword beforehand... I would never had done it... and before him... I had tons of declines to joining and other help... it was my guild that aided me in other things. Sorry to burst your bubble... but I know what SC is like... and a handful of a Few make it a good place to game... don't get me wrong... I was lucky to prove myself and only used Vita gear... it was funny... tanking / vita gear and pure vita barb.

But we are nicer on hc!! Since there are so few of us we have to stick together, and thats how the overall community should be now.
