Any item Tier. So my polearm doesn't = the sword I am assuming. Am i right to guess that my polearm would be around a 220ee L30 sword if it was real?

Your polearm would be as good as your sword if they had the same amount of ee.

Well, maybe a even a little less, granted that we did not calculate the enemy defense to keep the calculation simple.

But to make it easy: compare any weapons of the same tier: the one with the more EE (counting str as ee of course) is superior (generally)

Why does killing speed win?

because if you're sitting there doing more damage with your lower EE polearm, but can't kill as fast, your climbs will be slower.

It only wins if your goal is to kill the mob, if you have any other plans with the mob killing speed might not be the winning factor.

amazed that people actually try to make serious replies here :D

I am confused. If i am doing more damage wuddn't the kill speed the same? So your logic is incorrect.

You can't compare a different type of heavy type to a reg sword.

The only thing you could compare is a longsword to a reg sword because their range is relatively the same.

But yeah your polearm is much more dmg wise considering it has 60 or so less ee but the fact it attacks half as fast is what brings it down.

All i am looking for thank you lance.

my logic is that the kill speed will only logically be the same if the average damage per second is the same.

look at this. simple math:

1000 dmg x 1 hit per second = 1000 dmg per second

1500 dmg x .5 hit per second = 750 dmg per second

unless of course you plan on 1 hit KO'ing every monster you come across

by killing speed he means attack speed. according to the math shown, it would appear that in the same amount of time, the sword does more damage. The problem with the average damage counter in catas is that it calculates average damage per hit and the sword hits twice as much in the same amount of time so you would have to calculate for double the amount of hits on a sword.

hits per second when you one shot monsters --- seems like it is not as relevant

and a 118 ee polearm is the equivalent of a 336ee weapon of the same ---

1) which is impossible at that level
2) probably 1-2 hit all mobs
3) i like heavies B)

We do agree though that swords can hit for 10 damage like every time right?

no, i mean killing speed. all that matters is what kills the monster in (mathematically or even practically) the least amount of time
