what does a white lvl 55 item have in common with a tier3 60ee item? ^^i talked to several people.. and i am pretty sure at least dagger/ice lvl 55 whites would go for at least 100 fg.. the chance to get a good drop is ofc far higher than your idea

i have seen people spending a lot more fg on a lot more useless things ;) dont underrate that.
I asked myself the same question...comparing t IIIs and XIVs is like comparing a ferrari with a bike.
A lvl 55 item can have 280ee or a lot stats or whatever. like winning a jackpot. And this is exactly what motivates people.
They wanna try their luck and maybe get something nice out of it. And if they do, all the effort was worth it.
You wont believe for what odds people spend a lot more than that and the odds for a good item isnt that bad.
Plus, welling is something you can influence e.g. with magic luck gear, guildies in game and what not.
It can be FUN to prepare a welling char with gear and stating, make a group with friends and then have the thrill of welling.
This is exactly what this game is missing now. More fun challanges. The objectives are useless thats why everyone is black tracking to mq faster.
The only real fun challenge might be the master quest itself. will the door open or not? its so simply, just simple odds but still this can motivate even after years of playing.
The same applies when putting an item in a well ( or the muting box ) not knowing what will turn out of it, but hoping.
If nothing good turns out, maybe next time, BUT they made a lot of beginners happy as they supported them with fg to start the game and spend on the game again
Why is the econpmy in ladder slasher ruined right now?
Because we have hardly any players and way too many medicore items, the game is too easy ( high end gear isnt needed to play it, so why pay for it )
and especially, how would a beginner be able to make fg on the game right now?
Selling 1fg items to skillers, ok great. Its tiny steps, but it works as long as there are skillers who take the time, effort and have the financial funds to afford it
With the way the game is right now, this wont be the case forever either as the skillers need to get their fg from somewhere, too.
Lets be honest. Most people started this game because it was a way to make fg easily.
Do some climgs, sell mutables fpr a couple hundred fg and have thousands in a few hours/days.
The majority of them stayed. And they invested the fg they made into new, better gear to climb faster.
There was a LOT fg flowing around and a lot more players and thus there was a market for items to be sold for a lot more.
Prices these days are very low and things like the vault were never adapted to this. How should a beginner finance a vault with 50 slots for 200fg every month
when he can just sell items for 1fg AND at the same time improve their gear so that they wont get kicked from a catacomb run instantly?
Its hard, probably too hard which is why people play other games like PoE to make fg to play ls. This is ridiculous...
Having to play another game or buy the currency to play this game shouldnt be the only way to play it.
Now coming back to the whites...
People ( including me ) have paid a couple hundred fg on mutable items some time ago. Thousands per day.
And you know what? i made profit with it because i had some very nice mutes to pay fo the investment. And most important, i had fun.
Agreed, the game is different now and muting is a skill so not everyone can mute a random white item later on if the well turns out bad.
But there is still some competition and people who actively mute and as long as the skillers go on, there will be more muting 55s soon.
But whites are a way for beginners to make fg and a way for the others to try their luck so in short, its a way to shift fg around again.

@ bolded... how does a white item go for 100fg when a TierIII (60% ee) item goes for like 5 fg?
We can not assume the price of items with the populace now... maybe later on in the future as long as people stick by a guideline to trade them for a set amount, but, this is unealistic.
EDIT: you can well 1 to 1 billion level 55 items and still not get 100% to perfect ee etc.
EDIT2: why would I spend 100fg on a white item with about a 0.00000000000000001% chance of being good, when I can just spend 100fg on Vault space?
Taken from the hourly raffle here:
Match all 3 numbers of next drawing in the same exact order drawn to win Jackpot. (Max Winners: Unlimited, pot split) (Odds of winning: 1:42840)Why do people do this? Or play real life lottery with even smaller odds of ever winning something?
Because they just feel lucky and have fun with it and IF they win something the investment was worth it.
Idk the odds for a perfect item, though i disagree wit your numbers. But apart of that:
i can still hope to get the perfect lvl 55 item. And especially, why only perfect ee lvl 55?
Would i through away a 200ee lvl 55 item and not take the thousands of fg it brings?
Regardless of the odds, people can pay a low amount of fg and (theoretically) win a lot with it. This is what motivates people to do it.
If you spend 100fg on a vault its 100fg that are for sure gone. You get 25 slots for a month and thats it, next month you will have to pay again.
Not very spectacular and in the long run a lot people will think why spending so much on a feature when they can hardly make fg here.
I totally agree that the economy is ruined right now, but still good items are sellable ( even though for a lot less than they should be sold for )
The key is to bring ppl back again and with that, bring the economy back. There have been lots of comments and suggestion about that in this thread.
Selling white items is one of them because, as stated above, it helps to shift fg around and gives beginners a chance to get started here easier.
One of the reasons why the palyer numbers went down is because lots of people quit for whatever reasons and there was no fresh blood coming after.
I doubt it will be as good as the muting system back then because the situation is a lot different now, especially because a lot ppl turned their back on the game already.
But, along with other good updates, it can be another keystone to help bring this game back to a higher popularity again...
