No, it's based on simple mathematics.

Feel free to calculate it through if you don't believe me.

I suppose.

i dont have any weapons but heavies, but if i had the choice between those 2 i would go for the sword for sure. no doubt. its too much difference in ee to prefer the heavy weapon.

You have a very nice longsword.
You rather use the sword then the longsword?

Dagger/Axes are the best weapons in the game. Most consistant damage. In the time compared to a Sword you may hit for a low 5-200 damage hit, meanwhile the an Axe you are gauranteed good consistant damage. Even if the Sword hits for a critical, over time the axe will get criticals and keep a steady damage. Everytime the Sword hits low the Axe gains damage on it. It's the exact same when comparing Daggers to Sword too.

The biggest thing about using Axes and Daggers is that they can be used by every class accept: Warlock. (Alchemist obviously doesn't have a weapon slot)
Most useful weapons in the game and have the most well-rounded damage in the game in my perspective.

Your whole idea of well-rounded damage fails because all of them will have the same average damage no matter what if you hit with all them an infinite number of times.

Also if you were to hit with a axe or any other weapon 10 times. They all have the same chance to do the same amount of average damage.

The only logical fact you stated that is true is the fact that axe/daggers can be used through most melee classes in the game considering you generally cast on Warlock.

Tier 14 Sword: 14-140 = 77 Average
Tier 14 Polearm: 84-224 = 154 Average / 2 Second hit = 77 Average

I don't know. Nobody can win here lol.

Any item Tier. So my polearm doesn't = the sword I am assuming. Am i right to guess that my polearm would be around a 220ee L30 sword if it was real?

LOL NO

how hard is it to understand that killing speed = the winning attribute?

polearm 334 avg
sword 222 avg

one attacks half as fast

this means that the polearm averages 167 damage per second.
and the sword 222 per second.

not to mention the sword's crits will increase the average of the sword by more than the crits of the polearm

Why does killing speed win?

You can't compare a different type of heavy type to a reg sword.

The only thing you could compare is a longsword to a reg sword because their range is relatively the same.

But yeah your polearm is much more dmg wise considering it has 60 or so less ee but the fact it attacks half as fast is what brings it down.

Say you have 10 turns. Both do about the same average dmg but one will get twice as many actions as the other.

Considering that is the case, the sword is better.
