It`s really hard to die more than once in hardcore on the same char. The whole point of playing softcore is so we don`t have to suffer these penalties of losing everything. You also have to consider that years ago a lot of us had to fight until the end against well monsters or we could lose the item so it was worth risking the death. This was also before the proficiency system.

Sorry, couldn`t resist. No time to play tonight :( grrr. So much good content and it will be superbly fun to try and figure out the whole mirror maze process again with all the new difficulties. The replayability is just getting better and better. That`s whole point of the rpg :D !

the point of the matter is the change to MQ level was to offset the xp penalty. This was supposed to take the same amount of "time" as if the higher classes were getting that penalty anyway. The xp difference might be the same as the penalty but the mobs you have to kill to get that xp become ridiculously hard to kill even with top tier gear.

What was completely disregarded was the ridiculous difference in difficulty of the mobs at that level and relative danger the mobs imposed.

Now going to 81 all i really need to guarantee a rip is 3x high level stun mobs and I cant leave the cata or heal or eat fish or attack. Anyone that has done a 101 climb knows the drastic difference between lvl 70 EPs and lvl 80 EPs.

Ive ripped so much prof just trying to solo to 77 on monk. Dont have the greatest gear but its not terrible. This has been very rough.

I could see how youd be a little hesitant with HC

Ahh... forgot that hasn't been updated, this happened also in 1.30, once you hit 71 they spawn more mobs... think it is an MQ thing... hopefully Paul could implement a change to this.

I must say you have a point. All of the changes towards fish, and master quest levels do make it much much harder than before. I`m sure Paul will think of something to compensate for those hardcore players. I mean you could do easy mode which should be safer in the higher levels. 2 monsters @ level 78 might be less dangerous than the previous 3 at level 68.

He`ll never be able to please everyone. He`s made 20 great changes and 1 that I think sucks and I keep focusing on the one that sucks. We`ll just have to live with it. In your case maybe die with it?

Yeah. The fish change was brutal. Easy mode maybe 71-85 should be allowed too exactly because of hardcore and 85+ goes back to 3 guaranteed. I`m sure that would help everyone

according to Rex, the easy mode stops after lvl 70.... Obviously considering the MQ change this could easily be adjusted and all would be well. Until then whistling and hoping you dont hit multi stunners solo is the best option.

Not going to lie though, being force to whistle to complete climbs takes the fun out of late game.

It's just not a well thought out addition to the game. This game will grow and get healthier with community input, that's why we're here discussing.

It doesn't make sense to warrant this change. I initially thought "oh well, it doesn't seem that bad I guess, we get "a few" extra levels to play the late game, that's the portion of the game we want to be playing to build our profs and find sick items anyways. Well, 72+ wasn't designed to play like this. It's not viable for new players, it's not easier for them, it's not more fun for anyone.

Cheeya legit almost died, in a 2 man duo with awesome gear, great heals, great fish, etc.

We need to think of a new method off setting the experience increase if that's something we need to even do.


Not only this, but anyone playing group is now forced to play into those high levels, want to group with an alchemist? Clear your schedule, you'll need an additional 40 minutes to complete the climb even though I'm on a feeder
