i also think that it isnt really 0.5 anymore.. was just at the beginning after the ratios have been introduced.. as axes do the same dmg like daggers with compareable gear now.. the stats got a higher value again.. so the axe is more like 124ee.

its only on paper that str is 0.5 for axes

Axe damage increases one time for every 2str or 2dex added (even numbered stat points only). That axe should be considered equivalent to 111ee since that is the direct damage output that it would have.
The damage differences between say axes and daggers works like this -- Daggers get a damage increase for 9/10 points added to dext giving them better shown damage, but as a result of their ratio they rarely crit. Axes get damage increases for only half of the stat points added, but they get critical strikes very frequently. While that balances them out, critical strikes are not a measure that can be counted towards the EE of the weapon.

ive played both and discovered the same thing about critical strike...

way more often on axes ..
