What was the "added" benefit of weapon ratios? Why were only weapons given ratios but charms left out? How do weapon ratios add to gameplay?

Str and Dex are direct benefits of melee abilities, Vitality has nothing to do with Casting, that was my point. Dex and Str went hand in hand previously, but vitality never has nor should it.

I completely understand this. My arguement however, is that casting should have another stat. Right now, one stat determines crits, damage, mana pool. Normally I wouldn't mind, but what convinced me that it's unbalanced was this. I was in a group at lvl 35+. At lvl 35, someone with a 40 int weapon, 35-40 int robe and a 150% charm did more(much more) average damage than I do at 55+ with a 75 stat charm, 75 stat armor and 246% axe(statted 50/50..even though it doesn't matter how you stat with axes). Similar gear at similar lvls should do similar damage. If using only staves it was possible to do over 500 average damage. Using the other weapons, obtaining that average was impossible(at any lvl), you would agree that it's imbalanced and should be changed. I view casting this way.

I also think that the ratios were left undone. In my little tiny mind, it only makes sense that if weapons get ratios, charms will too....just a matter of time.

Look on the bright side though, when have you ever seen an idea in a topic that Paul has actually implemented? Or if it does get implemented it's nothing like the idea in the topic. So chances are this will never happen now that it's in a topic.

Everything is aight the way it is right now, but if you wanna do something for casters, put more mana on chars, cuz since the abilities, even mages gotta shrine

imo it isnt balanced between caster/melees
caster do alot more avg/max dmg with much lower ee items

eg: i got a lower avg with 2xxee sword and 100stats than a caster with 100int from eq and 150ee mq charm

where is the point to buy high quality melee gear if you can reach the same effect with caster gear which cost less than 50% of such a melee eq?

caster have the mana issue, which is almost none exisiting since you can jump town for shrining..

Yeah, you are right, for exemple , I bought a 149 ee ice charm for 1k , and I had a better avg with it while casting on monk then paying 4k for a mq dagger 154 ee Mq one and 100-200 lower avg on a rogue' I think something has to be done for this.

No to this idea.

I did have another idea about vitality to make the stat more valuable and useful on items. Make it so all +vita on gear also gives you +life per level just as vita is as a base stat. Str/dex/int all have massive benefits, but vita never really mattered. But this would make vita much more useful ;)
