On a serious note, this is why I never buy the vault.

I know for a fact I can not get on everyday, sometimes for a week or so, so to me it is a complete waste. Pay 100 fg for a month, use it for 5-10 days. Not worth it imo.

Not sure if it is possible, but maybe make it so it counts a day, only when you sign on to ladder slasher. (Again not sure if it is possible)

Thats a poor excuse to charge for something that should be standard. Friends list on this site are standard yet I'm sure people adding top friends have drained tons of FG. Vault could be the same, standard and pay for larger size.

Plus the prices rise so fast on items because people pay more $$ to compete with each other for items, not because more FG exists. I'm not saying more FG doesnt exist, I'm just saying its not the cause. Typing in your credit card number is so much easier then finding a 1 in a million drop in which you need gear to get that number of kills to begin with. That always made me laugh too, people play this game for the long term investment factor and then they go and spend $1000 to get that new item of theirs instantly. I even spent some real $ on this game at one point tho, so I'm no better then anyone and I dont clame to be, I just find it funny. I'm also not saying everyone buys FG, but thats why item prices sky rocketed, so dont take that the wrong way either.

Note: The option for rentals would still exist. This is simply a means to Own slots if someone wishes.

this just broke the deal. There is no oppertunity with this in place. People that want to pay monthly can still do so, but those that want a permavault can do it for cheaper then they would normally pay. Let's say you are going to be here for at least another 5 years. Renting 25 slots each month. How is it in Pauls interest to only charge you the 15-18 months you proposed? Now, if you removed the above and either make people buy permavault slots or none. Then all the people that do 2-6 month sprints on ls would be inclined to get these for xferring, etc. The majority of people aren't here for the long haul and then it would be an oppertunity for Paul to take more fg out of the system. Everything else looks good, but the part about letting people continue as they do now, totally negates any profit Paul would get by implementing this. The only people that would purchase permavault slots are people that would be saving a lot of fg by doing so.

On another note.

Let us say that this is not changed (99% sure it won't), how about being able transfer to guildies when you do NOT have a vault?

This would help the guild, and also encourage more fg being spent for "Guild Transfer Days", which we all know is 100fg, the same price as rental space.

Pros:
1. Be able to get newer members in the guild setup faster
2. Be able to get glyphers etc more items quickly
3. 100fg per 7 days means more per month return (not every new member will buy a vault as it is, and there are those that WON'T buy one)

Cons:

I'm in the same boat as you. Sometimes it's not worth it to me because I might not be playing that long on a specific week/month/whatever.

Also I don't really like the idea of being able to purchase permanant vault slots. so I'm voting no on this suggestion.

I do like this idea that was brought up. Have a SMALL number of vault slots FREE of charge. Again, a small number...maybe enough for some climbing gear because with the new update I (as well as others who can't really afford a vault every month - whether it's the acyual FG cost per month or my LS play time that flucuates per week/month that makes it not worthwhile to rent a vault only to use a fraction of the subscription times) it requires the user to log out, switch chars and transfer gear - which in turn logs you out of the auto-saved cata groups that the new update brought.

THEN...have the ability to rent additional slots if you want to have more space. But I do feel the vault is a great aspect of the game and should be able to be expereinced by all users.

tl;dr - a SMALL number of vault slots free of charge, ability to rent additional slots if a particular user needs/wants more space. I'm sure many people would still rent more space if the FREE amount of slots was pretty minimal. This way all users (new and old, poor and rich) can expereince the greatness of the vault, because it really is a great aspect of the game.

Truth be told, Paul would get more fg out of the system from me this way, since I'd actually have a vault rented for an X amount of time, rather than just when I need it, which is not often, I've only rented a vault twice in the year and a half that I've been playing LS.
