This. Can't wait for it to roll out to live.

Maps, large mazes, hell, even mirrormazes are now a secure thing, where they haven't been for years. Totally thrilled. Don't see any true negatives to the changes.

Then again, I'm not a huge fan of hc, so it's only natural that I'd be less likely to care about "what if" scenarios than some.

That's why I mention it now, it's the only situation that doesn't have a counter play if you get unlucky. There's nothing you can do to avoid death.

I can survive basically anything else if I'm trying/careful and I more or less have, even without super insane gear.

I'm also not sure how it works exactly, because most times i can town/attack/heal in a short period of time (which is enough) in-between paralyzes, but sometimes the monster times its attacks just the right way that I get stun-locked and i can't do any actions. How is that fair?

I wasn't even fighting EPS, just regular monsters.

Well you made the decision to have a glass cannon character (25 levels over with under 100 vit, low int) and so you undoubtedly get smacked at that level. In other words, maybe those that have tougher builds could survive such an encounter. A reward to the builder if you will. Further, since your playstyle is already so incorporative of death, who cares?

We tested when someone *dropped* at about 80% complete.

we still dropped 2 maps, with one being a *decent* Map. before if that person rejoined we would have gotten a single map from that point.

seems like it saves whatever the background quality indicators are. which is very nice.

wtf are you on about? 95 vit is overkill given his defenses. I used to run 75 which was absolutely fine, shrine up quite regularly at 67-71, other than that flew through no issues.

Get yourself some 150ee Scale and you'll find you don't need mega vit.

:lol: This pic has nothing to do with my deaths, it's just the oldest screenshot I could find that shows my character's stats for reference in a partyplanner 101 climb.

The 5 deaths since then, probably in wrong order are:
1. Died while welling a 193 ee 35 chain at lvl 35-40, which turned out to be a multihit monster and 1 shot me with 2k life. (Kinda annoying, but my fault)
2. Died somewhere between lvl 50 - 75 to a treasure pest, because I wasn't careful enough and was continuing to fight it on low life. (Obviously my fault)
3. Died when we spawned shamans at lvl 70-71 and I d/ced a few seconds after, while the group decided to town. (That's very unfortunate, nobody's fault)
4. Died around lvl 85 - 95 to a non-ep group of mantaprey + pawfulgore + something else, which got me perma stunned for 2-3 seconds and it was enough to kill me with ~5k life at the time of spawning. (This is technically my fault, because I wanted to go to 101 solo on a wl) P.S. That's when I finally stopped doing solo 101s, because it's totally pointless and not worth it if you don't wanna die.
5. I can't remember that one atm actually.. but I'm sure it was mainly my fault too


I care, because the premise is: "There MUST be a sufficient way to die, regardless of how extremely careful you might be, what gear you're using and the fact that you're only trying to go to MQ. ( Not attempting some weird lvl 150+ explores or high wells at lower lvls, etc.)

And yea I know I'm softcore, it's not that big of a deal. But I enjoy being extra careful most of the times and using fish/town/comfreys to survive. So many people would've died a dozen of times more if they did what I've done with my gear, so the game can still kill you if you're just slightly distracted.

Well then I guess there's no problem since you've got it all figured out, must just be a faulty game. I have an idea, let's sit online and fill up an otherwise top notch thread with useless bs in the hopes that with enough bitching you'd get to keep the ability to fast reset the game, which has no change or bearing over gameplay for any player who can properly make a character. You're all just losing your mind over some tribal knowledge exploit and you're finding any way possible to defend it in a covert and dishonest way.

Just reading between the lines, but sure, deny it. I bet no one else comes up with some lame excuse for it to stay as it was now though, but hey, I'm just speculating. Gaining GP as fast as possible is your goal right? GP outweighs the risk of death, so you make your char strong enough for 99% of all encounters, but that leaves you no room to cry now about theoretically dying in the future since you didn't prepare for 100%. For the record I don't know as much as many of you may about this game but I'm no fool.

As for the vitality thing from earlier, if Jupiter5 had just added more vit early on, they probably would be able to survive whatever nonsense mega rare situation they'd find themselves potentially compromised in later down the road. Do either of you understand how this game works?

Unlike all of these toxic cunts, I love seeing that updates are happening and look forward to it :)

I have not spent a great deal of time on the beta server. What exactly happens when you have a disconnect? I feel like it is very hard to tell based on the replies in this topic as there is a lot of disinformation floating around.

Upon disconnecting from the server while fighting monsters, do you then:

1. Have to survive 5 rounds of combat and then get booted to town?
2. Combat is paused when you disconnect and is resumed where it left off and upon logging back in?

Would be great if someone who is not called Pick, Slush or Cheeya could shed some light on this as I don’t particularly care or trust what you have to say. :baby:
