It's easy to understand what a d2 ladder/non-ladder are, it's difficult to view it being viable on a game that literally has it all encompassing

I don't understand. Was there a change where on reset gear is either deleted or moved to a seperate mode so that when the new season begins nobody has any gear or proficencies?

There is hardly enough activity here to make a non ladder/ladder version

Valid argument man, I agree it's a very niche game.

Understandable argument my dude. What do you think can be done to boost the popularity of LS if you were in charge of things?

You uh, can't. Even if I wanted to start out at level 1 (which I'm currently doing), you, for instance, have pretty sick gear in comparison. A ladder is forcing everyone to begin again on a fresh start with NO gear. All your current gear would be non-ladder and not usable on any ladder characters.

After 13+ years I've managed to amass a few gear sets yes. If you put time into the game, or traded stuff from your other games (like I've done) or purchased fg (like I've done) you can easily have the same level of gear as me.

If you're not willing to invest, that's your problem.

I get that for sure man, I already have an alright setup for both HC and SC, I'm moreso putting myself into a typical newcomers shoes. Someone who has never heard of LS. On the other side, I'm asking how would I get someone to stick with this game? I went with the "put everyone on the exact same level" angle. Seems fair to me. What would you suggest?

Make quality of life changes, keep the core game as is.

With my suggestion the core game would stay as is. You could continue doing what you do on Non-Ladder and nothing would change. Anyone else could continue as well. It'd also likely draw a lot of people to Ladder, and when Ladder reset a lot of them would stay on Non-Ladder as well, increasing demand for gear and upping prices.

So you’d be hoping that the game on it’s own is good enough to pull in a ton of new players... something it has always failed to do. Even at its peak it was max 200 or so concurrent players. A good percentage of the players that still play have years worth of time invested in proficiencies and 100k+ in gear that they likely wouldn’t want to give up for a fresh start. On top of that you’d need to get a group of players dedicated enough to stay with that season with horrible gear for the 500-1000 mqs needed to reset. Poe resets every 3 months and their player base on average gets bored and quits a month into that and it is far more of an in-depth game than this.

I'm just thinking of a way to have LS gain popularity. 5k active users on jsp at any one time. If we were the developers, how else would we pull users to play?

You guys know we already did this with the beta test realm and it was pretty popular right?
And only current players even knew it existed.

I had a wall of text to post, but will keep it to the following;

I play this game because it has potential to be better, I DON'T play for Guild points, Unlocking characters OR forum gold or reset ladder. I play the game for proficiency (Ranking). It wouldn't really make a difference to me because I would basically just stick to Non ladder and play.

By the way, what is the point of Guild points on Non Ladder? All your previous answers to my post was about D2... this is not D2... this is "LADDERSLASHER" not "NON LADDERSLASHER"
