Disregard your core discussion, I'm really curious as to what Paul thinks of tweaking drop rates.
Maybe just run a few experiments. Heck I know a few people including me who would beta-test for drop adjustments for a week or so

Just make that 23% qualitys + 3% quality bonus even permanent and all will be right with the world

I don't think so
I personally would like to see something done to the tiers dropping, it's really unmotivating to keep seeing chests full of tier 1 drops

I definitely agree with that! Im just saying if he is unwilling to do that Id be ok with just a %quality boost applied

This is a Huge issue. absolutely NObody wants to see drops like this. I want to want to play this game. I want that excitement of maybe the next drop is the one i have been waiting for. But its just SO unmotivating when you follow the right steps. Wear magic luck. Explore, Find EPS, take the time to kill the EPS...

and you still only get drops like this. :wallbash:

Yeah I agree, something needs to be changed. There's so much unnecessary crap dropping that after awhile on some climbs, I just stop checking the lower tier drops. 99% of the time it's just garbage anyways, unfortunately.

The ideas/suggestions about item tiers scaling off as you progress/level higher would be wonderful. No more T1/2/3 garbage (whether from mobs, EPs, or chests) flooding the ground.

In a way I feel like in the current state of the game, the drops are coded for a larger player base...when there's not a large player base.
Is there a way to code this so it matches how many people are currently active?

But more so taking into account how many people are logging into LS, earning GPs, etc. There's more than 17 active people playing the game and on the forums, just not at the exact same time. Regardless though, the community is small. Small on SC, and even smaller on HC.

I'm not sure if this is quite possible, but would help to adjust drop rates. But maybe I don't know what I'm talking about :lol:

In my honest opinion, the starting point for fixing the drop system would be to revert to whatever it was before either: 1.30, 1.29, 1.27. I can't recall exactly which of these killed the drops. One of these updates took all the fun out of the game for me since it used to be fairly easy to find average to slightly above average items, by that I mean 100-170ish ee items.

Since I started keeping track of the number of solo climbs vs item drops, I've only seen one item above 100ee(lvl 20, 118ee sword) drop in roughly 80 climbs. The highest stat that any item rolled was 39 vitality :drool: All of my solo climbs are full explore/running maps and usually end at level 76-85 since I always try to complete the maze I started before MQ'ing, additionally I use at least 16 magic luck from level 30 and above and a bit less prior to that. I can with 100% certainty say that ML doesn't do anything to improve the drops you get in the current version of the game. (Or maybe it does, how bad would the drops have been without it? It's beyond me)

I currently feel like I'm hard capped at finding 60-89% ee items with the very rare peak of hitting the 90s. Why is that? I generally find some 2-5 of these every climb and it just won't roll any higher. After ~4.3 million monsters killed, the highest EE item that I have ever seen drop is 195% :rolleyes:

Ouch your RNG is absolutely horrendous... Ive done 140mq this season on HC. Mind you this is over like 2 years at this point but...

Keep in mind he was alluding to 80 SOLO climbs.

Your 140 climbs were 80% full games, resulting in 600+ actual climbs worth of drops.

That's horrendous. The game is not in a good state. The items you listed for 140x5 climbs is crazy

joshie you havent been around lately but I promise you that youve got that backwards. Ive been primarily solo or two man groups this season because until recently there was nobody else playing. I probably havent even done 30 full groups yet on my character.

Of the 32 monk/ninja climbs i ran there were only 2-3 groups.

The MQ heal was a solo EP at lvl 70
The str charm was a 3 man well game
the dagger admittedly was a full group with datis and natester around 14 months ago


Mind you Im not against boosting the drops because they're abysmally low but its not impossible to find average to high end gear its just super far between drops.
