I fully assume I can lose gear/prof, etc by playing HC.

But this is just giving up on HC, we are not talking about diying while trying to fight an ep or a 9 wave at 85, we are talking about diying from a DC that is not caused by anything I can control.

How is this even fair lol ?

Your conjecture about HC being ruined is nonsense. From my own personal experience the beta is better at recognizing a loss of connection (I have satellite internet) and has actually prevented death a couple of times when my latency was really high. There is only one instance where I died due to latency but I was going hard and should have healed up fully before going into the next battle. There is a fine balance in ensuring the game mechanics work for everyone- so could you imagine how horrible it would be for me playing if some extra touchy sensor kept constantly freezing my character whenever the latency was too high just to "protect me"? It's like doing a Baal run in D2 on HC by yourself and then blaming Blizzard if your char died because you lost connection. I mean the fact that Njaguar has implemented anything regarding this issue is not only more then most games even do, but it's confirmation that he's aware of the issue entirely. Your whole angle here is assuming that the mechanics of the game are broken although it would appear that you haven't even tested anything, or provided information that would be helpful in addressing anything specific.

Yeah ingame you only see the core that you're currently on.

This is taken from a HC character:

It would be cool to have the sc/hc selection option just like the one on the portal. That way we could check both like Rick was saying.

You didn't even play beta with your 0 kills/experience character, so get out of this topic with your nonsense!

I just mentioned it because I am a sort of a picky guy for keeping records of achievements and such -- Scandal Sheet etc...

I realize that we will be able to check both cores when v1.32.0 is fully implemented as it will be accessible from the LS Portal :)

Thanks Paul for the many fixes and especially for making the disconnects less irritating

As for the ones posting theoretical problems, please have some cheese with your whine

I know you have addressed this but I did do a test of pressing f5 with monsters spawned. Sitting at 100 life and by the time I got back in by pressing login I was in town and had a new death.

That being said it is 💯 possible to die on a 1006 error if you are low hp fighting mobs.

So we will just have to make sure we have lots of life at all times

Just changes the way we play I guess

How is this even a new tactic? Going into battle with mid-low life and just hitting F5 everytime you're about to die is basically cheating.

Edit: I just tested this again, I went into battle, left myself 1000 life and hit F5 and came right back into battle when the tab reloaded with exactly the health I left with. You're right though Slush, it's just a matter of changing your expectations.

It isn’t a tactic I did it to test the cata staying .

To see if we stay in cata or if we are forced to town.

I play soft core and when I solo I 100% get low life and push as many kills as I can before going to town and shrining .

I can’t do that now. Because if I 1006 I will now stay in cata and die.

Where before I would lose my map and be in town .

Does that make sense now?

It was more so used for when you were lagging and the game wasn’t responsive. Nobody uses f5 as your main escape. Further it’s the way you simulate a dc on beta. I think you’re hung up on f5 when everyone else is talking actual dc

Yeah it’s the d/c on a solo 3 ep wave that is concerning. Before at least you knew you weren’t going to have to hope you can survive 10x boss hits because your connection fails.
