I don't see how the game is any different from the forum (other from the fact that it's a game, of course).
If you made a language filter on the game, people who play the game are obviously a part of the forum as well. There are going to be people using profane language here.
They're going to see the same words in both places.

The same people flaming you for this update are the same people who had the inappropriate names...I say ignore them because they are getting attention which is exactly what they want.

Replying to them and defending why you did this is useless, this is your game, your site, and you can do with it as you please.

Firstly, i would like to say that although i am not completely overjoyed with the update, nor the upcoming filters on the forum itself, i do understand and agree that its your site and you make the rules. and thats fine.

What i am puzzled at is the deletion of characters. I do not have any offensive names, but players that do have had their chars deleted, rather than renamed. Of course if this rule had been in placed before the char was created it would be completely understandable, but im wondering why it is necessary to punish players for violating a rule that was not in place at the time?

Every player here, big or small, new or old, has contributed to the success of this site, and many of us have donated to the site. It seems drastic to delete the characters without giving the players a reasonable amount of time to fix the problem.
