You're wasting time below level 30 usually, prof gain wise and drop wise. Cool you find a lvl 5 anything worth 19.98 on the MP if you're really lucky.

if put in effort/try for speed can probably mq in 5-8hrs with barb-pal. if leisurely exploring about 6-10hrs

on melee/tank char...
lvl 1-20 ~1-2mins per lvl
lvl 20-40 ~1-4mins per lvl
lvl 40-55 ~2-5mins per lvl
lvl 55-60 ~5-10min per lvl (usually town 0-1x)
lvl 60-70 ~8-12mins
lvl 70+ ~10-15mins

currently lvl 85-86 took ~10-13mins with exploring and 0 lights

when +warm light--> speeds things up

only reason i explore from lvl 1 starting out is to try and find maps. Altho thats still a crap task cuz its few and far between when good maps drop. Plus i personally just like getting the quests. Gives me something to do lmao.

The debate to clearing Objectives to whistling to 30 is pointless.

Solo'ing completely without using the level 5 Map in conjunction with /set easy 1 won't make you get objectives faster.

Shit... you will never have a fast 1-71 clearing objectives in 3 hours using a Guardian UNLESS you have someone kill Sneaky for you, and even if not using a Guardian, how many of you post for someone to help clear Sneaky? I have done it with a Guild mate once.

Once you get to level 45 (pure solo and excluding the level 5 map BS) you may get one of the other Objectives show up because Swarm or some other one is removed.

Here is another way to look at objectives: Only complete them with a character that uses Dagger / Spear / Battleaxe ... why not... bits = +Dex & Ambush = +Dex and you may as well just use Pinch / Treasure chest stat point gain for Dex.

Sneaky + Vita... oh yay, melee takes longer to kill it and wastes time, thus not even good point to calculate how fast you get to MQ with a Melee vs Caster.

As for the prof gain vs Rank vs character level... why not alternate... so you have rank 40 in club, why not use another weapon from level 1 to 40 then switch back to club (multiple choice for most characters).

At the end of the day (@OP), everyone has a different speed getting from level 1-MQ (71 being feeder) based on their gear, ranks, event, whether they want to time it, or go for prof hunting like welling items or get to Character level for current Rank level for that item etc.

Take your time, don't rush it or expect you to be as good as they are, you are only limited to what you have on hand and how you use your time when playing solo.

Not actually silly.

#1 = using Jub gear you can sit in town and gain experience without taking a step.
#2 = using Jub gear and encountering either 1 to 3 normal monsters mean you gain more experience
#3 = if NOT using Jub gear, and using +exp gear and also encountering 1-3 normal monsters mean you gain more experience
... Note: This does NOT include exploring a Map with +X% exp &/or an Event with +X% Exp or +X% Exp Monster Cap

#4 = if you explore a step with NO MONSTER ENCOUNTER, the answer = 0
... NOW: you have to answer, how many steps in a catacomb maze of 10 x 10 to you come across 0 monster spawn?

Thanks - those points i understand and agree will increase you average experience per step taken (or whatever denominator you fancy). My question was more derived from my interpretation of Rabbit’s post (good gear = high EE/str/dex) and if that really would help you clear a cata before reaching MQ level

Edit: I guess it would boil down to the following - does more actions per kill (i.e Lower dmg) give you more exp per killed monster?
