Much like PoE, if you invest in your character you can kill more monsters per hour, yes.

However it's more just time spent playing. You can't expect to find crazy items if you don't put the time in. Sure there have been cases where people get lucky in their first few attempts, but that's simply luck.

It's like any RNG based game, more mobs/hr = greater chance for drops. More hours = greater chance for drops.

I just wouldn't mind seeing LS pop like D2 does. Over 800 active traders on D2 right now because of ladder reset recently. Normally it's like 50. If you've ever been on D2 in the last few years there are barely any active games. Ladder reset hits and everyone flocks. It'd be the same here. The only difference is you'd have a mix of SC/HC players here.

Well in that case, there is already a "Ladder" in place, as we have seasons that reset.

So what would be the point of a non-ladder?

Non-Ladder would be for people who just want to get MQ GP and magic find items and keep the current game as is with no changes

Ladder would be for people who want to race each other to reset on a difficult, equal playing ground with no gear and no proficiencies from level 1 and when a reset is finally hit all ladder characters and gear transition to non-ladder.

Make a new ladder that isnt tradable, there we go!

But no, this def is a big no-vote for me, the game doesnt need to split up the community more than it already was when HC was made.
You guys can make hundreds of fg's each week on sc from just selling the skillables/whites etc that has already been mentioned.

What I can't understand is that people don't understand what a ladder/non-ladder are, especially since this is a trading site that heavily focuses on Diablo 2 and the ladder/non-ladder I'd implement are exactly like Diablo 2s ladder/non-ladder structure

It's easy to understand what a d2 ladder/non-ladder are, it's difficult to view it being viable on a game that literally has it all encompassing

You uh, can't. Even if I wanted to start out at level 1 (which I'm currently doing), you, for instance, have pretty sick gear in comparison. A ladder is forcing everyone to begin again on a fresh start with NO gear. All your current gear would be non-ladder and not usable on any ladder characters.
