Everyone is complaining about the dumbest things. The real reason there arent new players and ppl stop playing is simply the gameplay whether you guys want to believe it or not. I like it - but that's because there is a slight chance something good will drop. That's why I play. Not for GP's or for the graphics, but for the simplicity and the possibility that I can enhance and upgrade my char. However there's no chance that will happen with the current drop rate.
Not saying all drops should be useful - that would be boring, but increase the chance of higher tier items to drop by 1000% then the game would be more exciting. 99% could still be useless, but that 1% might be a 100% ee item or something. Still 100% ee is almost a shriner in my opinion. (Almost). Just my opinion.

Funny because before the gameplay was even more simplistic when arena was around. There was only one picture to fight but for some reason we had about 100x the number of active players. It’s not the gameplay that pushed everyone away. It was the terrible string of nerf updates. Removal of arena, removal of muting system, removal of no maze, nerfing all the objective drops, capping prof gain, and most recently breaking the well system plus increasing the mq level.

You can act like it hasn’t been the horrible string of updates but I watched that shit happen myself. The gameplay hasn’t changed significantly it’s just that all the good parts of the game have been changed or removed leaving this game that is set up for a significantly bigger community but lacks one of significant size to work properly.

Idk bro I didnt play back when he made all those changes, so idk how it was before, you are prolly right. I was telling was my personal perspective on why ppl have quit/dont play this game since after the re-write. My opinion is also that all the suggestions/complaints in this thread are dumb, especially with the reintroduction of events.

Well you're both right.

The main reason new people might not stick around for a long time is that the game gets really boring really fast. I don't see how that can change, it was never meant to be a super exciting game afaic. You either decide to waste your life on it or you don't.

So when you have a slow paced game like this and you want to lure people to play it, you need to focus on the other things it offers. And what "rewards" does it offer? Guild points, prof and item drops. ( And a secret reward, which is chatting with friends while playing it, but that has nothing to do with the game, if you wanna chat just chat )

Do I need to say which one of these is the most important to a new player in a game, that's 99% dependent on your gear?

And which of these 3 things have been nerfed the most through the years? Okay, case closed. ^^

Back in the day mutes were worth tons and you could effectively build your sets by just selling mutes. I remember selling an arcane 55 fire (used for making int armor) for 450fg and anyone could use it to mute. Now they are worth 1-2fg max and like 4 people have the ability to use it.

New players had the ability to not only start with nothing and build up but also make a real income off the game without investing hundreds of dollars worth of fg. The game was rewarding to all players not just the incredibly rich and powerful.

The problem with the game now isn’t it’s simplicity, it’s the complete lack of reward for playing that applies to the average player.

I think yes makes sense. Destroy the value of items that it would but trust me LS community has no problems shelling out fg for items they want.

Right now as a budget player this would be a good move to make this game enjoyable for everyone not just the elite.

That’s the stigma. That it would destroy value of 55’s. Reality of it is that it would really not touch them at all. There would need to be lvl60/65 items that actually drop and they’d need we on them of over 200 to be stronger than the 55’s being used by some and 230+ to be stronger than some of the 55’s used by most. That’s just not going to ever happen at a rate that would touch the economy. It would add a little excitement but if those high ee’s never drop at a rate to be useful and overshadow the existing high 55’s then it’s not an impact.

I agree with ^Ladd3r & ^PowerTripped, but I can imagine that slashers who bought lvl 55 gear worth 100k ++ Fg don't want to see that change.
