if u're looking to stay and play for a LONG time i would say - axes/daggers (its a smarter move because this setups require both dex gear, so u dont need to buy both dex/str, and it will cover u on every melee class)

Weapons - ALWAYS EE
Armors - if u play alone, EE armors
Armors - group? u can still go ee armors (its cheaper) or u can use Dex/str armors (i would prefer robe since u can use it on every char)
Charms - Str/dex

Str - Swords/clubs
Dex - Daggers/staffs

AXE - u can go both str/dex since u get the exact same amount of dmg from either.

For softcore id get 45-59 ee tier 3 65-79 tier 4 75-99 tier 5 (ee of course) weapons/armors for charms u dont need every 5 levels try to find a cute 10 stats with like 100+ max life IF your hardcore you want to try to find max life on all your tier3-4 gear to help with the early levels. SC hp is not as much of a concern early on.
