My wish:

I wont write it cos I'll be banned for sure

Pr0n section? Legitimately selling Fg for $$$? An item editor for LS?

I am truly glad that Paul rejects/ignores most of the suggestions posted in this forum.  People may complain about how the game is currently, but it'd be long dead if he listened to most of the garbage that gets posted in here.

5% of the polls and suggestions are actually well-thought and most likely useful. And this do I say, as a constantly no-voter (because there are so many garbage ideas). Not even those are considered by Paul. I wonder if he follows the LS-section, at all. I don't see him browsing through, anyways.

I see that Paul so much consideres and believes in LS PvP. The PvP-Arena is always empty, I have never met anybody in it. Let's have a look into the LS-PvP-section. At the first page, the last topic is older than 70 days. That means, there are posted 25 topics in 70 days, which is one topic each 3 days. (I left those topics out which refer to D2-PvP.) Let's be serious here: this so much shows people are not interested in it.

So back to topic: My wish would be, that Paul shows up more often, here and then. That means, I want to see him posting his opinion about polls/suggestion being posted here, not just letting his mods decide by "Paul said no, topic closed". Additionally, I'd greatly appreciate if he shares when he has new ideas for further updates BEFORE he releases anything, so we can discuss. Sure, it's his game, but let's face some facts: Who actually plays this game? Paul didn't do any MQ this season.

I dont know when you started playing LS so i wont guess. but what you say is at the heart at A LOT of the old timers here.

Paul USED to post about 2 times a week in the LS forums.. Upgrades were almost always "hints" at what was to come. HE was the one that would close topics and give reasons for them being closed.
as for the PVP section. That IS a player suggestion. We used to have pvp WAY back when this game was just a text game. It was removed because no one used it. We, as a community, begged to have it back.. and for NO reason i can think of.. we got it back.
it just needs tweeked to where it would be fun is all. pvp could be awsome.
The only reason there is Another HC is because of the community. THANK GOD! i couldnt bring myself to keep playing "hc" on the sc realm.. it was getting to be a pain in the ass :)

what most of us want it seems.. is just to have paul back with us instead of a name that can bring bans.
but.. paul is a different person than he was 2 years ago.. it might just not be possible anymore.. who knows.

whites sellable, get rid of the essence downgrade from transmuting. both of these things would make useless items sellable again and thus would begin the great circle of community. would personally like to see auto stacking of essences and stacking of whites per item per tier with hard caps. mp selling update. just get rid of the limit just allow x amount of items to be at 0 before you wont be able to do anything then you have to pull items off to post or do anything. revamp of gp system. EXTRA ITEM SLOTS would be a great mod. possible new skilling mod and or skilling items. such as x % to transmuting prof gained on items, or possibly muters mallet, glyphing gloves, cooking hat that can add prof or - duration on individual skills. very similar to current fishing rods. uhhhhhhhh. skill profs to be account based rather than character. you dont lose the prof in sc if you die so dont see why it should change for hc. meni others a big personal thing to make me happy is halve the time it takes to mute items and decrease the prof gained as well so in the end its same amount of time but i dont have to stop my entire cata group for 5-6 minutes just do to a single mute.

There was a PVP Ladder back in the day. I strongly believe that if it were implemented again, more people would play it.

More Paul in Game and in Threads.
i believe that if he was a regular LSer
then the little things that drive is crazy
would be more relevant to his gaming
and therefore more likely to be fixed in a timely fashion

There are really only minor things that I'd like.

1) All of my skill prof points to count. Only in LS does 2989+35=3000.

2) Perhaps more objectives that you can only complete if you do not town at all. Some new challenges and might help with the fish market.

3) Item locks would be nice. I may not use them, but it kind of sucks when you hear about people shrining their expensive gear. Perhaps they could be 1fg each available in a new tab in the market place. A locked item cannot be sold, shrined, skilled, and maybe not vault transfered. Unlocking could either be free or also 1fg. I don't know if this has been suggested before or not as I've only come back a month or so ago after a long time away.

And some things that would be nice, but I don't really care that much.

1) Arena back would be nice. But soloing in cata makes up for the lack of arena a little bit.

2) People to quit whining about lack of players while also whining about the changes to increase accessibility for new players. IE. shrining, solo cata, groups, well, etc. Sure it would be nice if everyone were as invested and as interested in the game as a lot of the most vocal and longest playing people. But it's not going to happen. The casual players are where the increase of numbers are likely to come from.

3) It would be nice to have at least some word from Paul every so often. If nothing else, it would show the players that he is engaged. I don't, however, think that he should be talking about specifics of what he's working on, unless there's some major problem that comes up.

I read the first 6 pages, skimmed the rest... Here's what I have to say:

Some of you are great at assuming. You have all these wild ideas and conspiracies about the how and why of things and decisions, but no actual real reasoning involved. I'll go ahead and spill the beans:

Ladder Slasher is a game designed from the ground up to be a game I enjoy playing. A game that I will continue to enjoy playing. In my lifetime, I have never found a game that could keep my interest for very long, so LS is a combination of all the elements, concepts, and ideas that make a game that I want. If others enjoy it, awesome, but if at the end of the day, it's just me slashing away, so be it. I'll still enjoy it. It has nothing to do with any other conspiracies related to fg, or trying to get new players at any cost, or any of that other non-sense. This doesn't mean I completely ignore the ideas/suggestions/input given by players of the game, but if I do not agree with what it will do for the game, then it will not happen, no matter if 100% of the players want/demand it. The game cannot be everything to everyone.

Regarding 1.08, I find it to be the best version ever. My son found a + Jubilance item, and came running in, excited like it was his birthday to exclaim how cool he thought it was, and how that was now his favorite item stat. This, to me, proves by itself that 1.08 is the best version ever, and Jubilance is the best stat ever. Your mileage may vary, but I find the same excitement with the stat as well. (See above)

As has been stated numerous times in the past, this is the tip of the iceberg. If I had time, I would develop this game much faster, but unfortunately I do not. There is so much more planned, and this is just one step along the path. I don't think I could ever entirely finish this game, even if I had the time (because the concepts and ideas are limitless), but suffice to say, there is much in store.

With me and a few close friends, I like to refer to the next big feature as 1980. It's the code-name for the next big feature/change that I have been wanting since I played my first multiplayer games back in the early 90s, wishing a game would develop some seemingly obvious concepts. I have yet to see such a game, or at least, a game of the genre that would interest me. I'm hoping to get that done for LS at some point in the near future. There are also some other big changes in store, but they are pending being fully fleshed out in a balanced and logical fashion that support future enhancements and changes without massive overhauls. Some of these are things that have been requested for a long time (and been planned since the beginning). Again, it's about finding the smartest way to do it, that meshes with the long term goals and plans of the games, and not just a stop-gap measure, thrown haphazardly into the game.

The bottom line is, I cannot please everyone all the time. I will continue to develop LS into a game of the calibre I think an RPG of this genre should be. I hope you enjoy the ride, and the time I've invested to give you some of the enjoyment I get from creating, developing and playing Ladder Slasher.

good thing he's not here anymore, or some of us would be banned every 2-3 posts we make...
since he released this java version of LS, he said that he doesnt care about what we want, that we can all leave his game... so stop making this topics really, we all know what you think...
