The chatlog doesnt say anything when you pick up an item, only when others do. So you DID grab the sword.

However if nobody stated any kind of rules before, it's hard to know. I always do: Main = for the owner, Side = ffa.

You do realize that it will not pop up in the chat box saying: YOURCHARACTER got the weapon.

I just drop level 55 battle axes in level 20 well games and leave.

There are no rules regarding this other than the one specified by the people in the game. If someone said all drops are his and you wanna roll with that, it's up to you. If you decide to go back on your word, then that's another issue. But the way you can play it is how Paul intended for it to be feasible. That is to say if you can steal everyone's drop then by game rule, you are allowed to do so. The repercussions however are not always governed by the game alone.

In any case why big drama over this sword, is it 250+ee hence exceeding Rick's gear ?
