Well actually one of those deaths were due to "bad tp" as it were. That is to say 4 ppl ran due to big ep wave and one entering it not realising what he's up against. It is highly dangerous in my opinion to play in a big group in hardcore that is unorganised or is relatively new to the update. However in terms of soloing, this chance is non existent. I suppose this means that the tankers must therefore have balanced armor (like scale or something) to accomodate for the change and variation in charm to weapon attack. I've heard some scary things in terms of ambush and 7 shamans objectives. Not something I would be venturing to try out in HC anytime soon.
Yeah, I did have some concern with that as well. I think that's definitately manageable if the whole group is there when the EP hits, but what about when a 4th or 5th joins and doesn't realize everyone else just towned to avoid a huge EP? There are some play-style adjustments needed among all HC players for sure. #1 can be to always ask if it's safe before hitting the catas. (except maybe at times when you can obviously see it's ok)
Some of us are apparently paying the price of learning these things the hard way. Despite a recommendation to test on SC first I know most HC players either couldn't or wouldn't do that. For one thing, you'd need full gear (even if it were lower quality) to actually go through and learn the game again within the different level ranges and quests to see what bad things can happen. Personally, I've just taken extreme caution so far .. and it still almost hasn't been enough at times.
