Anyone confirm? So... I need to make it to level 251 to break the all time record?

You aren't breaking a record, the reason being is simple, before the changes made, if they weren't made, you would be 500+ level behind him.

Sorry, the only record you are breaking, is due to current updates and you failed already.

maps with level up chance can surely smash this still?

to answer why you'd death farm this was a post i made for someone else:

A. Reach level 55/59 and then when you get near to levelling up, die repeatedly until you get back down to 20% or so, then start farming again.
B. Repeatedly climb level 1-71 or 1-MQ.

Benefits/Disadvantages of each:
A:
Has the fastest killing speed whilst still being able to find level 55 items, which potentially can drop the most valuable items in the game, hence why we don't use lower than 55.
Only needs climbing up to that level once per season
Disadvantages:
Lots of wasted time repeatedly dying
All weapon/charm proficiency progress is lost (other than those which are completed)
Gains no guild points.

B:
Gains guild points, some guilds will pay for you to attempt the Master Quest (MQ) on a barb this option appears at level 71 and can be found in town. If you attempt any unlocked class the level requirement is 2 higher per unlocked class (so samurai is 73, paladin is 75 etc)
The main buyer of guild points at the moment is Real, i would suggest contacting this guy if this is of interest: https://forums.d2jsp.org/user.php?i=520285
Allows you to gain proficiency, each 1 prof is 1%ee , so at lower amounts it's generally not very good, but when you hit 10% and more it really becomes noticable when your 100ee weapon hits with the power of 110ee.
Allows you to to unlock new classes
Is generally how the game is supposed to be played and in my opinion more fun than sitting at the same level
Disadvantages
A lot of time spent at levels where the potential for drops is generally worse than fighting lvl 55 mobs
A lot of time is also spent fighting level 65-MQ mobs where these are significantly more difficult than fighting level 55 mobs.

Drop rate diminishes and the tier level of the drop rates diminshes after level 60ish, so B option is only viable for prof gain and may a 1/100,000 good drop.

As for GP's... selling them, you just may as well just go solo and play Hardcore because you get double the amount of GPs per Master quest.

This n that... shit, even trophy finding doesn't give you the Market Place value of items these days, especially on SC.

depends how u want to play the game.

go for glory and aim for MQ or reset the ladder.
Go for top tier item farming

i was told people have played this game for 10+ years and are yet to find top tier items.

i decided to prove them wrong since i used to play in 2008 (came back for d2r 10 years later)

and yeah, found a decent hoard of top tier items by abusing death farming which increases my chances of gg drops.

nothing wrong with either style of gameplay but id say 80% of the player base plays for MQ/reset

what i do think is wrong is only playing 1 char to MQ.

i. e barb with like 100 x MQs, never moving on to the next char etc. (even tho they pass MQ)

i dont see the benefits of that tbh.

And you just proved the point of LS being lame and only benefits one core and death farming.

Why do you play HC if you think it’s lame?

I like how people keep making up numbers about Datis's achievements but no one actually knows.

some say around 200 others say "they would believe" it was 250.
Can someone just adk him on his teamspeak or avabur already lol? No need for guestimates when everyone is so familiar with so much math in this game apparently. :)

I just play for the prof gain and keeping up some of my ranks. And HC means deaths reset the leader boards.

He has mentioned it before when myself, Buf, Andy and a few others were grouping up on HC using his VOIP setup. He should be still playing Avabur since I last spoke to him over a year ago though. Hey, I could be wrong, he did want to get to 300 if memory serves me, but the changes made it impossible, especially when his level 55 Focus heal wasn't even 100% + EE.

getting to 200 by summoning lvl 71 monsters isnt very imprrssive tbh. Doesnt sound like any degree of difficulty. So far most imprrssive thing ive seen in years is bwconformity hitting 150 twice solo.

The number would be interesting to get but I suspect even Datis doesnt have the data but he might.

These things r fun to see parameters of how far we can go weeee.
