Generally i dont give 2 shits about what you post, HOWEVER being that ive done alot of running when i was deployed to Kuwait, this is a nice post.
I never ran a full marathon, only some halfs, alot of 5ks, and plenty of 10 milers. So thats awesome that you accomplished this. Big congrats man. Running that much in one duration is legit a big feat. Congrats again!
Thank you for your service….Semper Fi.
I’m also surprised that this post received much positivity and to get to hear other’s running stories and future endeavors.
For those who haven’t done the full one, life is short and you have plenty of time if you decide to give it a go.
Also wanted to add that my official time was 5 hrs 0 minutes and 30 seconds (this is different than the timers posted time because the wheelchairs went first followed by the olympians then a few faster groups went before our group did) and my wife’s time was 5 hrs 20 minutes (I couldn’t run with her much because her run style is to run/walk/run/walk/run/walk and that kills my shins. My run style is to run non stop until my legs force me to take a break.…..yup so close to getting under 5, but I also slowed down to take pictures at the finish line and to get one with the timer.
Also I hit my “wall” around the 30k mark. Oddly it wasn’t my legs or back that was hurting but my 2 little toes on my right foot.
