you are right man, i have tried the game before for more than 1 week . ( i think 2 ladders )
and i did find part of the community problematic at that time and the game not beginner friendly

User friendly to New players.

There are a few people that do give a ton of advice. Some give advice based on the core they play. Some link a new player to areas to help them learn about the game for that players play style. Some to Builds / Guides section.

Interaction with people in Game (like joining a group and being kicked without them saying anything can be a deterrent, but most will tell you "Full Sorry" then kick if you stay around too long), or posting here in General LS Section will also give some people nightmares because of their antics... and including myself, I can be very abrupt and opinionated.

I started, played solo, basically never really bought gear, never done a Master Quest until I reached Rank 10 in a weapon, got recognised for this and people knew I was invested and got to join others for group runs... but those days were a lot harder than the game today... so you can easily just Solo OR, the best thing, play with the two people that you want to introduce to the game ... try to all join the same guild and make 3 person group runs and grow and learn together.

Depends on you, what makes you want to play a game? I just play for the profs when I am playing in my own time... I don't want to be organised to join a group at their time & schedule and click constantly for like an hour or more constantly. Your choice.

Wish you luck. Also, if you want faster games / groups, you can play SC, just remember, sometimes Reset can happen in less than a Month or more.

EDIT: Didn't really answer your question... How to make it more user friendly... re-organizing the "LS Information Portals" and condensing it a bit more.

Basic information:

Weapon / Charms and Armor for Attacking/Defense and/or Healing should ALL have Enhanced Effect mod. Secondary would be relevant "Stat" for either the weapon ratio (Strength / Dexterity highest value), Armor/Charms = Strength / Dexterity for Weapon Ratio (only usable on the Main Slot, as ACC slot only accesses EE% mod).

Note: Enhanced Effect only affects the item it is on, not any others.

I agree that the portals could be more user friendly.

There also should be either an endorsed guide from players (sticky the new players guide)
But even when allotting stats. The sword for example could say the ratio on it in game. Some of the games most useful info is crypticly entwined in the forums and portals.
But like any other rpg. There could be item descriptions in game you can open (example: "right click for more info")
Which I feel could be a useful tool for those who don't know how to make a sword/their character more useful

The info is there but finding it and doing so shouldn't be so challenging.
Because posting the questions you have has the oppurtunity to paint you as a noob forever in some peoples minds. I mean I've seen people ask for PC after PC. I've reached out myself, and tried to teach them how to price the market before they have to ask.
And some people can't get out if their own way. But if we could sticky those referable guides. It would save players embarrassment and give new players an actual chance to grasp the game without having to be taught by veterans
