According to ancient cave paintings, it looks like they also wore top hats and loved butterflies as well.

This is historically accurate.

I was thinking same thing. The sword wasn’t even the weapon most used by Samurai. Yes, they often used a spear. They also used a club, which was for sword breaking. The more you know! I think Samurai should be able to use club and spear

Again, European influence writing history.

What is a "Spear" based on your perception based on what European influence you were taught and the European Historical records that you were taught when growing up?

A spear is a label for a "Pointed Stick" and people think that certain Races used them more predominantly and Thus... you have the History of a spear in cultures, shit, a "Pointed Stick" was used to kill Dinosaurs.

Uninformed racist against Europeans post.

The only thing I am Racist against are Racists. Colour/Race/Creed doesn't mean Jack, but the Historical information is based on more European influence other than the Culture of the Class: i.e. Samurai.

First so called Sword was a No Dachi which in European standards was a Great Sword that was 9 ft in length, this is before the use of a Katana that people refer to as a Samurai.

The Bow was not used by Samurai.
The Polearm was not use by Samurai

Again, this is the European version of the Culture of a true Samurai etc.

So... is that being Racist? No.

EDIT: you should also look up the difference between Hara Kiri & Seppuku (spelling) ... originally both of those are ritual sacrifices, one would be done by the wife of a Samurai before she got raped when the confines or her husband died in their village, whereas the other would be the role of a Samurai to replace his honour... again, even google does not have the correct answer because of all the details are missing. (was written in books/magazines before WWW)

Wakazashi vs Tanto ... Tanto is a dagger and Wakazashi is the second part of the Katana sword set, yet, there are differences in provinces where there is the Katana / Wakazashi and a Tanto (3 piece set) vs a Katana / Wakazashi (2 piece set) ... which of these are traditional for a Samurai?

The bow WAS used by the Samurai. I’ve read the hagakure and other Samurai books, and I’m pretty sure you’re wrong. The definitely used spears as well. Racist against racists doesn’t even make sense, that’s implying that racists are a “race” which is just silly.

Hagakure Books, what ERA/Province was that based on? Does Buddhism factor into it and the specialist Sects that were created for the ERA and or Shogunate? When did things change? Pre - Edo period or after? Which Japanese Emperor (if any) changed Samurai beliefs? Or did it?

Oh, a spear was not the name of the weapon a Samurai used, that is why I posted "Polearm", and NO, they never used a Polearm either, that is the European terminology of the weapon, not the Japanese name.

You need to choose your Period of the Samurai to make a stable comment. As I stated before... a Samurai use to only use No Dachi, a 9 ft Blade, there wasn't a Katana in that period.

Who said we are only talking about 1 period?

Also the NAME of the weapon doesn’t change what it is

A No Dachi is equivalent to a Longsword in European language, A Katana is shorter.

Want semantics... yes I have swung a Longsword, and the length was 8.5 ft, a No Dachi is 9 ft in length. A Katana is around 6 ft in length at most.

Idk why your talking about that while quoting me. I never brought ever of those weapons up. I also know about the no dachi, it and the katana are still swords.

Also just bcuz Buddhism or whatever else “influenced” someone to use a thing, that doesn’t mean they didn’t use the thing. It still counts
