It seems like Ladder slasher is no longer something the Entry - mid level player can enjoy. The trade market no longer caters to their needs as if your not trying to buy something for 2k or above FG no one has anything to sell and the guilds, while they advertise as being "active slashers", simply do not help the new and aspiring ladder slasher community leaving those players to falloff as they cannot hold their own and climb the ranks.
Read the replies and there have been posts like it was when v1.15 etc was around and none of this new updates existed.
It all depends on you and your way of playing, when I started playing, I had nothing, I worked on gaining Rank 10 in a weapon before my first MQ and with the aid of Paparick and others, I did my first ever MQ, and from there I played in groups, or solo'd because of timezone difference.
Eventually I moved to Hardcore, played solo and carried many people in my group runs where I would drive, this includes Vicky who has passed on with other like Buf, or newcomers to the game and did not give a crap about their gear, just play in a group, help them help us in a group run to increase the speed etc and their enjoyment to play Ladder Slasher.
To answer the Topic Title... it is worth it when you group up with like minded people, otherwise it can not be worth it when others are just there for profit or a free ride... so... you will come to know whom you like joining up with and playing LS for fun.
