True:

Objective MM came about because of a thread regarding Dopplegangers (hence you killing of the doubles in your group with basically the same equipment the group is currently using at that time)

Only took a decade of people posting that suggestion intermittently and 90% of the community leaving the game due to bad updates before it was implemented. I don’t think it was so much the threads as Paul just felt like making a change.
