Ouch, I would think that the map would poof because monsters spawned on the last square at the same time and you were too busy dealing with the monsters... not because of the drops sliding. Considering you could not go into town otherwise the map would auto disappear etc.

EDIT: maybe you fell in a Trap Door on the last square? Again... it disappeared because of that. It timed out because too slow.

E2: I maybe wrong if something has changed on the last explored square where the map times out like normal items.

E3: if it is a whistle issue, take it up with your driver.

seriously if the door placement irks you fix it... its an easy user script to make in tampermonkey. Im sure more than a dozen people could explain how to do so... in fact im 99% certain if you go down 10 or so topics you will find Rex's post about the same bullshit and there is already a script to take care of it posted there.

but yes you hit the nail on the head (how i dont know) cause im sure your blind old senile
