I use heavy weapon, enter, attack, when it hits I switch to heal and then click the door once to stop action and then a second time to leave the catacomb... you should try it, maybe a different way... click door once, you will notice the next action is NOT attacking, and then you can just click the door to exit.
EDIT: or dble click door after first click. It works, don't panic.
EDIT2: if you are getting floods when re-entering catacomb, open marketplace, select a tab (transfer or sell), close window then enter catacomb.
I'm not sure what I'm more likely to find first, this mythical well map with stealth on it or a useful heavy weapon

I don't know what I did before I knew this was an option. I almost never have to run away from well monsters, even with my mediocre gear, but I'll never well a single item another way again
