I think you could potentially see more people come back or start up on hc if the ladder reset. Everyone knows its getting close to popping so why start now? A fresh ladder that takes another couple years to reset would be rather appealing to someone that might not play enough to get end classes on sc but would possibly get them on hc due to length of seasons.
You basically answered your own post and did not really read my post... what... 1 or 5 players come back because of reset? How does that help? If people want to race to Alchemist and reset ladder, why did they not come back? So reset happens, and it will take a couple of years to reset it again, so how many people will die off because it takes a long time (considering that was why Blizzard & GGG made Season time based)? It isn't GPs (that is just useless), what else is there? oh wait, better items and upgrades, like that will happen even with the minimal increase... there is no point in leveling up anymore, especially for robed characters going higher levels than they use to and have a HIGHER chance of dying with their gear... come on... it isn't hard... your points are valid, but only for a minuscule amount of people to come back... and what, they won't sell off gear at the cheap ass rates now... they expect top FG, and those looking and buying in most cases won't even bother.
Other than SC, it is basically a waste of time resetting HC... but as I stated, if it happens, good, but is it really needed?
