Hey Bob if by experience you mean prof points I am going to disagree.
I get ~16 prof points avg at rank 21 gylphing near min to skill
If I got even 1 point for t1, It would just be wrong & I might just grind those all day.
Fusing was a huge add for glyphing not because it is all that useful game play or even glyph storage wise but because of the added potential for prof.
Prior we had to hunt out arcane+ items or flail around mostly failing on magics at the next tier up. Now we can just keep stacking making the much more common magic/rare items usable and leaving those coveted arcane+ to the muters.

I personally like that it is NOT completely trivial.
I'd rather that it was not worth a higher ranked glyphers time, leaving decent items and maybe even some marketspace for up & comers.

With the new totems (which are awesome) glyphing has been belittled a little bit. A lot of times your glyphs get blocked which is really annoying. Also glyphs aren't so important beause we can find some decent stats exploring.
I pretty much never get anything remotely usable and tend not to bother to click the enigmatic totems.
The glyph blocking is occasionally slightly annoying. I have two suggestions there:
either A ) allow players to dispell an active glyph (like right clicking a buff in wow)
or B ) make the totem buffs something other than a "glyph" where applying a glyph does not look for conflicts
