Paly / monk (20int base on both) for sure, as long as u have the gear for it, go for it.
But yeah, like most ppl say, it's quite annoying to see someone run oom and just sit there and not help out.

As long as the person is using max mana glyphs/fish to keep up with mana, than by all means, go for it.

I will outdmg most melee guys even as a off-class caster.
But my gear isnt avg, I guess

One could say your gear is unfair

Generally speaking monk can wear any traditional caster gear making it most viable. iLegit was the best at off class casting message him for tips.

Atm, I do almost exactly the same dmg with my caster gear as I do with my melee gear as a monk, which is great for melee ( assuming I don't have to heal )

I'm 100% sure I'll have more dmg on pal, but I don't wanna bother buying int swords/clubs or whatever

My mq int gear has 89 stats combined and that's it, my melee gear has 95 stats + 2 crit

My mq dagger is 135 ee and my mq fire is 180 ee

I have a bit more prof in fire, but that's completely nulled by the higher stats + crit on my melee gear, so the difference is even less than 45 ee

Also have in mind that I'm using a plain 583 mana lvl 15 robe till 35 if it's a slower climb and I'm running out of mana without it and even then I get to about the same dmg around lvl 35/40 as I do with my melee gear and I don't remember even good/ok melee clickers having more dmg than me at the 35/40 checkpoint ( or if they do it's only a tiny bit more )

After that it's more or less the exact same dmg level for lvl, ( my int and and dex gear both have exactly 75 stats from 35 - 55 ) and every charm from 35 - 55 has between 40 and 50 more ee compared to my daggers

I've already done plenty of caster monk climbs last season and I'm almost never running out of mana after lvl 35 in an average climb, because like people said the exp buff is helping off-cast a lot ( 0 mana on gear )

The only real mana problem is between lvl 15 - 35, ( I have 0 mana on my gear then ) but most climbs I can neutralize it with ~250 t3 mana glyph or in worst case scenario the 583 mana 15 robe (and like I said my damage still evens out at around lvl 35/40)

I always use pillar/pierce in the beginning and when I get them both to 40% I get some points in chaos ( multi would probably be the same, but I'm hoping on lucky chaos hits )




The first part is true, that's why I've only ever used off-class cast on monk, don't wanna bother buying pal/ninja useable weapon. But the second part is false, I've been the best at everything in this game for the past 1 year ++ :)

I always kept caster and melee gear in my vault for monk runs early in season. It is nice to go caster early on if there aren't any warlocks around. Having an extra melee character in a group with no healing isn't much help. I definitely do more damage melee, but sometimes that isn't the type of hero the situation calls for.

I guess you can say, that there wont be many ppl doing more damage with melee on monk then I do with casting
granted the mq gear is pretty good, but I assure you I did way more damage than with the best sword set + str gear SC has on pally

If that's the case, you can do more damage on Paladin because a heavy armor and weapon with 60+ int is a lot cheaper than a staff + robe.

Same amount of int, more item options, you could even tank cast .
