It is not needed...

If you suggested this because you see alot of the text coming up from the bottom of the screen and it is covering up the characters etc... just Press "L", this will automatically put it into the "log" and the text will not appear at the bottom left of the screen.

You can also keep your log window open when you join a cata group, move to a place that is good for you to see it from your peripheral (sp) position.

again... not needed... use what you have to stop the baggage... learn to ignore the bs comments and carry on... if the run is slowed down by 2 people conversing in game... leave and find a group that can cata without all the bs talk... occasional discussions are fine... but not continueous from level 1 to level 67 (which I have been in)

It was just an informative way of solving the issue... IF... it was referring to the contents displaying at the bottom of the screen.
If it has to do with people yabbering in your run (constantly), then just regroup or ask them to deal more actions instead of wind.
