Imo, the opinions coming from anyone that hasn't reached that high in character classes yet (including myself) don't really matter; considering the fact we all don't know what it's like exactly to play an alchemist and whether or not we'd like to choose from the two.

However, I'm going to be a bit hypocritical... and vote yes, just because I like the idea you laid out here.. and seems to be quite interesting imho.

Ok... now this NEW class is actually the opposite of the "Alchemist" and is unlocked in conjunction with the "Alchemist"
(Once you successfully pass with Headhunter you unlock BOTH the "Alchemist" and this new character)

The last five locked classes are limited to armor choices:
Monk <-- Robes
Ninja <-- Robes (Edited: missed this one)
Warlock <-- Robes
Headhunter <-- Robes / Leather / Scale
Alchemist <-- Robes

So why not introduce a character that can use other armor... well you guys take a look and say your piece... I am sure it will be enlightening... also... if you want to add to it... go for it... it is only a suggestion.

A new character:

Weapon Specialist (write up something that may be better suited below)
The Weapon Specialist focuses on the ability to specialise in every melee weapon available, the determination to excel in hacking down mobs
of minions with ease. The gracefulness that comes from dancing with these weapons make no other class compare. The might of the heavier
weapons make quick work of the foes that fall to their knees. Who needs the effects of sorcery when you can get satisfaction of looking your
opponent in the eyes when face to face, might, braun, and charisma while disecting your opponent with your own skill is by far the best satisfaction
you will ever come to know.

Weapons: All Types
Armor: Chains, Plate Mail
Charms: None

Starting Stats:
Stength: 60... Dexterity: 60... Intelligence: 5... Vitality: 50

Guild Points:
100 (Pass) / 1 (Fail)

i was think about a new char last night. similar to the barbarian he would be called something like the giant.
Weapons: heavy weapons only
Armor: Plate Mail
Charms: Any

Starting Stats:
Stength: 85... Dexterity: 5... Intelligence: 5... Vitality: 80

but any new meele char would be awesome.

Melee-Based classes: Rogue, Fighter, Barb, Samurai, Paladin, Monk, Ninja, Headhunter

Caster-Based classes: Magician, Warlock, Alchemist

Aye, this is just what we need. ANOTHER melee-based class.

Note: I did not include guardian, but guardian would count as yet ANOTHER melee class, as it can't use any kind of charm to kill with as even a half-assed build.

i like the idea, course i also like the idea of swapping monk and palidin in position

Thank you...
And yes... swapping those 2 positions would also be helpful... or maybe Paladin after the Ninja... that way there are 2 breaks beforehand...

Like the vote... thanks.
As myself... I have not reached that level of gaming YET... but I would love to...
I personally like the melee builds...

Me... that is why I suggested it... geez.
I prefer a challenge... not a Cookie cutter build (even though they are the best)

Do you think the stats should be changed?

Nice... Let us see... with a little bit of alterations... maybe named Moorlock... just different sounding.

Moorlock:
This is one of natures mishaps, a humanoid of great stature, strength and life, the skin as hard as stone making even the mightiest of a barbarians
attacks look feeble. This humanoid wields the heaviest weapons with ease and swings them upon their foe with tremendous force that the ground
beneath shakes and the mountains rumble in the background, these beings are more likely solitude in nature, but, it is rumoured that some travel
the lands seeking acceptance by normal beings alike...

Weapons: All HEAVY Weapons
Armor: Plate Mail
Charms: Earth / Heal

Starting Stats:
Stength: 80... Dexterity: 10... Intelligence: 5... Vitality: 80

Just one or two slight alterations... hope you do not mind the input.

I was also thinking of changing the stats a bit for the "Weapon Specialist"
Starting Stats:
Stength: 75... Dexterity: 50... Intelligence: 5... Vitality: 45
I was going to stat the character that I mentioned differently

I understand your logic here in naming the melee characters in a way that it LOOKS like more... but you are incorrect.
Rogue: More of a Hybrid... and on most occasions... can be effective as a caster while having better defense
Monk: Falls into the same catagory as a hybrid like Rogue... but not so good in defense
Paladin: Hybrid easy... Melee easy... Caster easy
Ninja: once again a very good Hybrid
Headhunter... once again if created properly... makes a very nasty hybrid that deals mass damage either way and heals

Barb / Fighter / Samurai are more destined to be the Melee out of that lot... BUT... they can be Hybrid built if you have the gear

So: It is an even Keil... 3 Melee / 3 Casters / Hybrids galore...

Pure Caster = 1... Alchemist
Pure Melee = 0... none at the moment... so maybe the "Weapon Specialist" or other.

no charms :headscratch:
that eliminates a huge amount of str / dex from the char (many people use +50 dex / str charms...)

I see a couple things wrong with your post.

1. As far as maze is concerned, there's typically no such thing as casting. Only healing, and melee. Casting is primarily for the solo player.
2. Having solo casted every single class other than alch (and guardian, since guardian can't cast), I can assure you that in no way, shape, or form, do ANY of the classes other than Mage, warlock, and (based upon it's stats) alch stand a chance in hell keeping up 1-71 solo casting compared to melee-arena.
3. It's all a question of mana. I like the idea of a "heavy caster", ie, a caster that can wear heavy armor. Similar to the guardian (a higher base int), except CAN use the kill charms.

Healing is a completely seperate discussion from casting. Healing is healing. Oh, and btw, YES, there is DEFINITELY a melee class that CANNOT cast. It's called GUARDIAN.

Again, no for me. If there're going to be more classes, they should be caster. :)

Edit: HH is a completely worthless caster killer. After 3 runs solo-casting on HH, I can assure you beyond any doubt what a piece of shit it is. It's not even a very effective healer, as the mana pops away too fast, and no matter WHAT you wear, your int simply isn't going to be very high. Unless you've actually PLAYED HH as a caster, I'd say you have no room to talk on that one. :)
