What would stop someone from "converting for personal use" then just selling on the other core like they planned?
Exactly, this is an area that needs to be blocked. Since you brought this up again, I just had a thought.
The Seller has a 24 hour block on his/her username account, just like when you sell something on the MP and you can not remove it within 24 hours, you have to buy it back, however, with "Conversion" on the other core, the same username account can NOT buy it within that 24 hour period.
So. You can NOT purchase your item within 24 hours on the other core using the "Conversion" method I mentioned on the previous page:
Ahh, I wonder if this would be better.
Marketplace has a "Conversion" Option
You select the item at the price displayed and press "Conversion" (2 things will happen)
#1: A fee box will appear, Fee is .20 per 1 fg paid by the buyer.
#2: A list of your characters from the core you are converting the item to will appear, you will have to select the character to send it to.
Example: SC item on MP @ 1000 forum gold and buyer converts this and the 1000 fg goes to seller and 200 fg fee is paid by the buyer
This seems to be a quicker solution, however it doesn't stop PM Trades where they manipulate paying the Fee by lowering the price and buyer sending the rest over to seller. This may also increase sniping.
However, this method can still be abused.
The most obvious is that they get a Guild member to go in cahoots and buy that item using the "MP Conversion" method, use Guild Transfer days to send it to the Seller for them to sell it off on that core... however this would be too obvious, so maybe the guild member puts the item up for Trade for his guild mate... again too obvious because the ID# of the item will appear in the Gold logs which can be tracked.
Thus an alternative to a Converted item could be another identifier on top of the ID#
Just a thought while responding to your post. Still trying to find ways to make it viable.
