I was just following guides, which say to put all points into str. Are these guides based on the assumption of having a GG gear or why they say that then?


most of the points yeah. some are a little one sided. But regen can take a long time. Put 10 or 15 points in vit and wear (scales and leather if possible) tank armors. Drop the rest of any points into str After setting up vit.

or like said get vit to about 100 or so and wear your str armor


just preference.

How do mobs in maps scale with your char lvl? I remember playing maps and monsters were way weaker and getting 0 exp. I'd like to purchase a map with 20 level req. What will be there for me? I'm level 66

tier 1 starts at max level 15, then +5 per tier.
So at level 5 onwards you can add 25 to the map level to find the highest mob level.
so a level 20 map would have level 45 mobs max, so you'd get practically no drops/exp.

In short just push on, ideally you "need" a level 50/55 weapon with 70+ee and it should be worthwhile investing in one. Damage will be a reasonably significant jump
Also note as a samurai you reach MQ at level 73 rather than 71.

Any chance not to fall through trapdoor? I can't complete a single maze due to trapdoors.

Only with a No Trapdoor modifier on an event or if you’re playing as a class that can detect trapdoors (rogue, monk, ninja).

Although you can always reset trapdoors by logging out and back in, it's been a bit "iffy" whether or not opening and closing a group (which resets everything else) affects trap doors, as there has been a few cases with different people involved who claim it hasn't reset the difficulty after opening/closing the group. logging out and back in has always worked for me to reset TD difficulty.


In general the map is rarely worth finishing at level 50+ unless it is an open room event

Idk if I’m understanding you correctly or not, but logging out and back in resets the Catacombs completely for me, so it definitely is going to revert to a non-TD.

the point i made was whether or not creating and group then closing a group will reset a trap door.
it "should" but there's been evidence to suggest it doesn't

I create/leave groups as an alternative to logging out/in a lot and they both do the same thing for me. 🤷‍♂️


E: But also I agree about finishing Catacombs at higher levels. Very low chance of getting a decent map and requires a ton of backtracking over spaces already discovered, which means less chance of EP encounters.

Whether on a Map, Catacomb or using a Detect Trap (Rogue), you have a chance to fall into a Trap Door if the "Emblem" is a Trap Door.

Note: Not sure if they Fixed the "Detect Trap" (Rogue, Monk Ninja) ability when clicking on an Emblem.
