The lvl of the map is based on the size of the catacomb, not the player level. And because of the reasons stated above you should definitely not wait to complete ;)

It is also based on your character level when you complete the catacomb, that is why you can get two tiers higher than your character level. Also... if you are talking about completing the catacomb faster and NOT worry about your character level, then you should always solo run using /set easy 1 (mode) which is also pointless.

EDIT: Guessing OP cleared his cata fast since it has heaps of rooms:

Shoot I meant to say that the max level of the map is based on the size of the catacomb and not the player level...

However, I actually have not tested whether being too low under the catacomb level reduces this max since the last patch (where uber chests were nerfed). It makes sense to me that the change that was done with uber chests may have also affected our ability to score high level maps at low levels. In the past, you could find a lvl 55 map at lvl 10, for example, as long as the catacomb you completed was big enough.

That makes sense, thanks

Question on this "you should always solo run using /set easy 1 (mode) which is also pointless.", I have been running easy mode to move through catacomb faster, but what did you mean by it's "also pointless?

The initial post is misleading you ... the OP stated "Map", whereas it is a normal "Catacomb" run... that is why he found a crap Map on the last square. Now... the room size there is awesome, faster to clear the catacomb... the OP managed to clear it by level 70... however, without the rooms and size... he would not have cleared it by level 80ish I would think? Oh... his reply after, it states using /set easy 1 mode... also making it faster to clear.

I have been testing Maze Dimensions between character level (start/complete) cata maze dimension and map maze dimension ... found out a few things... in a catacomb, the maze dimension increases in size roughly two levels apart.

Okay... my wording is a bit misleading.

/set easy 0 (deactivates) 1-2 Normal / 1 Evil Presence to 1-3 Normal & Evil Presence.

Okay... in a catacomb, you should only use /set easy 1 when you have to back track to unexplored squares, then you should use /set easy 0 so that you can get more Evil Presence (if they appear on an unexplored square). This is better for finding drops that could benefit you by upgrade or sell.

Hope this makes sense... Oh... when actually doing a Map (not a catacomb) ... just use /set easy 0 mode... the maze dimension is pre set.

I normally start a catacomb at lvl 35. You can complete it before 50 most times. This has produced many high end maps for me. You can also start one at 45 and complete it by 70. And as others have recommended throw ml on a few squares before completing the catacombs.

Okay... based on the OP's image ... the maze dimensions are ROUGHLY:

30 Length (width) x 19 Height (30x19) ... just an estimate, catacomb???

Hey did you start this catacomb run with a level 51 or 52 character??? using /set easy 1 mode?

EDIT: I may have counted wrong with the image... so 30x18... hmmm sounds like level 50 (character level) catacomb dimension.

Yeah I think around level 50, and definitely with /set easy 1

Thanks, I am testing things, however... a level 40 Map (not catacomb) I am completing for a second time based on character level and Monster level cap.

Level 40 Map = Monster level cap 65 (not 70 in your post starting from level 50).

Map Dimension: 29 x 18.

Basically I can start this Map @ level 45 and complete by level 65 and benefit from the drops using /set easy 0 mode (deactivating)

Update: tried another catacomb and put on a +3 magic charm for the last 10+ cells or so, and it might've helped!

Idk if this is a good map, but it's better than what I've been getting

Arcane embossed plains map
Level Req: 25
Use Item to Receive Effect

+1 Warm Lights
+1 Evil Presences
+79% Warm Light Effectiveness
+30% Experience Gained
Quantity: 2
+5% Stealth
