Great post, I disagree on a lot but I can see your point of view.
I think being able to start from nothing and have an opportunity to build sets would just be fun and engaging and hopefully draw new people in, I am not saying massive drop rates but enough to where you can farm that mid tier gear without taking years.
180ee+ items I think should not be increased more than say 25%.

i did a selffound climb once and i know what you mean with that being discouraging. I totally get the point that some changes need to happen here if you want to keep new players that start from 0fg or no will to invest anything at the start. I just think there are better ways to do that than splitting the small amount of people that play this game into more servers or cores.

a quite easy solution for that problem would be to give a "giftbox" every 5 or 10 levels on new characters and every new unlocked class. That box should just include the absolut minimum to keep going in a sort of enjoyable manner. Like a 50-80ee weapon/charm/tank armor and a 20-25 stat robe/charm for non tank classes. could also add some consumables to it so new people can learn about it (glyphs, comfreys, fish, essences, maps). Of course the items would need to fit the class. So you don't get a 50ee club for your first monk climb. This would also not kill the market cause these items are not really worth much at all. It's just to support new players that don't want to spend a single fg on items in their first couple climbs.

I actually like this even if it only works for feeder and one character per account it's still a foot in the door.

@ and 's response is accurate.

I like the idea, however the coding needs some more thought so that it does not get abused, how would it get abused you ask?

If they did not code it correctly, a new player could come in, reap the benefits of the "Gift Box" idea and create mules and get to Feeder or even up to Paladin on their main character (1 main character per account) and sell off all of the junk gear for new skillers or players, then "DELETE" all their characters (without doing a single master quest) and create a New main character to gain the "Gift Box" and mules and repeat/rinse without master questing and just gain Forum Gold.

The coding needs to be precise, once a USER creates a character that benefits from the "Gift Box", that "User" has been tagged the same as a person that has completed a Master Quest and can not create new characters (even with the same character name) to benefit from the "Gift Box". Hope I made sense... but this idea is good.

trade lock those gift box/items and you are good
I think we had a discussion at a moment for the ladder winner to get an item trade locked

Trade Lock won't work here.

Example: I am a new player, I create a main character to get "Gift Box" as I am leveling up, and/or Unlocking the next character class. I get gift boxes every 5 levels based on my character class... Feeder, so if I am a Guardian, my Gift Box could contain X% EE heavy weapons (since I am a guardian and can use all of them), I gain these "Gift Boxes" all the way to Master Quest, I Fail, I start again as a Guardian, I get "Gift Boxes" (if it allows different Gift boxes per class), and I still gain "Gift Boxes" if I pass a Master Quest as a "Samurai", so in the "Gift Box" I have higher chances to get Daggers, Swords, Longswords per 5 or 10 levels as stated by Matthi, not also including all types of armor and charms. I pass get to Paladin and same thing happens for "Weapons" ... if I pass to Monk, I sell off everything I have obtained, delete my main character and mules, BUT, I have purchased a vault, joined a guild and sent them to a member to hold onto the items I want to keep and use when I come back... now... let us say I leave the guild after xferring everything to another, then delete every character, create a new character and mules once again, join the same guild I was previously in and get that member to transfer my items back to me and continue on collecting "Gift Box" rewards REPEAT/RINSE.

Note: very long way of doing things, but if you are going to get 50-80% EE items in a Gift box... and repeatedly for your character class each time.... then it can be abused. As for Trade Lock... this defeats the suggestion in my opinion... I could be totally wrong once again. Sorry for the tl;dr scenario.

if it's trade lock you don't have the I sell my stuff
Option is you keep the gifted items on mule till you have better or trash them
You can sell or transfer them if they are trade locked

Increase of player base can be done with marketing (nkt just on d2jsp site). Even better would be if game would be released on istore and samsung store ... i dont know if it is possible to then use d2jsp as is if game would be released there but that kind of advertisment would bring huge influx of players for sure.

My reference is to 's post:

However, I also took into 's post prior in my response.

So, either conditions can be abused, that was my point by "deleting" all characters either way... main or mule during a season, but I used "Master Quest" based Plague's response ... gain the gift boxes to X level, do NOT complete a Master Quest, Delete that character, re-create that character based on the same name, continue gaining Gift Boxes. (you are still able to sell off all the items that you do not require, keep all the items you want etc.)

Now, if you keep getting "Gift Boxes" after successfully completing your master quest, and the items are based on your character class; i.e. Samurai, you have higher chances to get daggers, swords and longswords with 50-80% enhanced effect, and can profit and saturate the market even further while keeping the best Longswords for yourself as an example.

Again this is followed up with a Paladin with Battleaxe, Polearm etc.

Thus, when you get to Monk... just delete, repeat and rinse.

However, I could be wrong, or misreading your post, so do not take my post as an argument, just as me not being able to comprehend it from YOUR point of view.
