Returning and new players will generally have issues with ladder slasher, they have no issue leaving it that way.

solo isnt bad on ls but groups are not recommended. you can easily get a gear set for under 500fg on sc for your 1st climb
usually people who havent played in 10 years or never played before find stuff worth 20k+

I also recently just started again since maybe 2012 and it's been a great time killer when I get a chance. I play perfectly fine from mobile on a Pixel 7 Pro that uses Chrome. Obviously slower than PC but gets me away from endless scrolling on Reddit or Instagram now.

Biggest change for me was Well not being in town. There probably is more stuff that wasn't around back then but honestly don't remember so it could of been a thing

i mean it's clearly "doable" as there are people who play with only self found gear.
In general ask nicely on trade forums and can get weapons with 50-80ee reasonably cheap and already make it back by the time you reach level 70.
The biggest issue as with lots of games is that traders exist, who prey on the fact most new players cannot be bothered to go to the forums to ask for items, so will buy up all the cheap new player gear and attempt to sell it for ridiculous prices.


Personally i recommend avoiding skilling as literally all of them are boring to do and make very very small amounts of fg until you put at least 50 hours in.
Glyphing/Suffusensing in particular are garbage for making fg.

Honestly that's one thing that worries me. Would be nice to not have to spend fg to start playing a new game. Just a thought. Down to give it a go.

I find safari works best for my play style.

Also, ive said it a billion times, you need PATIENCE in this game. It is nowhere near impossible to start with nothing and 0 fg and be able to have complete sets that can solo almost any monster the game throws at you. (Im one of these people and not the only one). But you gotta haggle (they dont call me +1 cartrack for nothing). With time and luck you will find godly gear or sell maps/mutes/whatever to get the fg. Ive personally got 50-100 fg daily just off random junk i find and i know of others who have received more fg daily from junk they sell.

Strongly disagree. Unless it has changed, you can sell 10-15 lvl 1-3 essences for 1fg and it takes less than a minute to make. I used to make essences while waiting on my regen to fill me up then go battle more and repeat. Some people do fishing in the wait time

Yea you have to invest some fg to play or it basically won't work, but you don't have to invest too much.
You can make it back pretty fast selling random items @ MP
