I already thinked about it, similar idea to your #2 pic - removing for example joined and changing it for current level ( 'ladder slasher dedicated guild' option in optiions )

actually it shouldn't be a very very hard thing to implement
same way dynamic sigs are made , the update should be possible

i can think of some downsides tho .. what's the char that is to be placed there ? what criteria to select that char? (i'm guessing same as in the profile..)
only thought about this cuz most people play more than 1 char at a time, so even if the highest char is listed there , they may have that one parked and play another one ..you would still need to check that person's full char list to see if they have something in range
