I play this game because I love seeing really rare item rolls that are extremely unlikely and one of a kind. It's why I used to play Diablo 2 Classic, and it's why I'm here now. In my opinion because of the scale and number of the item properties and the rarity of good rolls, this game has an even cooler item-generating system than D2 Classic did.

Well, maybe I'll see you next time you try to get into this game again, before you quit. There is something to be said about consistency after all ;)

Items have kept their value really well for years on this game compared to on other games. Values are indicative of usefulness... since no one's gonna pay 20k for a magical weapon with only EE if it's not still strong in the game and there are tons more like it... People would actually play the game and items would have demand, thus holding value.
When it was possible to gear a char without dumping thousands of fg we had 300+ players on at a time.
Now we have 3+ players on at a time.

even when i played reg d2east i spent just as much time on apoc server just because of that. finding that rare item that blows away those uniques/runewords was gratifying.

even crafting was pretty fun just to see what would come out. personally i disliked when everything in d2 turned so cookie cutter.

lols i damn nearly logged in after that post just for the hell of it. sick as fuck atm so im easily tempted into wasting my time lol.

OR, instead of rolling crazy items, the mobs could just be easier to kill. Same effect, or in fact better
The mobs are incredibly hard to kill without EE, and relatively easy to kill with.
If mobs were easier to kill new people could also do MQ by just playing and players with EE would well.. still kill monsters easily

Tbh. If the above was not going to happen I'd still like it as it is now.
However one thing that annoys me is the fact that tier 1-3 items spawn all the time. If there was a minimum spawn it would be much nicer to play.
This could be 15-20 levels below you, so when you are lvl 55 only 35-40 level items would drop. (and we know these 35-40 drops would still be trash, but they are good as shrines and for skillers)
Tier 1 items are just trash when up those levels. They are useless as skillables and shriners and can never be really good. If you want skillables just roll a level 1 char
