NN hot-key imo when clicking on the door gets you to town with zero delay.
I remember the cool-down period that was required before you were allowed to exit cata's.
It was pure hell trying to get to town while the mobs were playing chopsticks on your char

There's plenty of ways to avoid dying. Even on robe class. The new update already helps with the no ctrl. That's all we needed.
