There can only be speculation to this topic...

1. Immunities to elements
2. Reduced damage vs elements of the same type
3. Absorb damage of the same element type (Fire Monster absorbs Fire damage)
4. Animated monsters making it more realistic (not too sure on this)
5. Unique monster... like a boss etc
6. Alot of other stuff that has not even been mentioned as a tease.
